When we choose a school for our children, we expect transparency, fairness, and trust. Unfortunately, our recent experience with Treamis School has been anything but that. What started as a smooth admission process in December 2023 has now turned into a frustrating battle over misleading fee structures, unkept promises, and a complete lack of responsiveness from the administration.
The Fee Slab Bait-and-Switch
At the time of enrollment, we were given a clear fee structure with assurances that our children would remain under the same slab system throughout their schooling. We paid ₹1, 58, 000 (after a sibling discount) based on this understanding. The school even provided a document stating that annual increases would not exceed 10% within the same slab.
However, when we checked the fee portal this year, we were shocked to find that the school had silently shifted us to a new, higher fee slab (introduced in January 2024) without any prior notice or justification.
Old Slab (as promised):
1st Standard: ₹1, 75, 000
9th Standard: ₹2, 08, 000
New Slab (forced upon us):
A significantly higher amount with no explanation
This is not just a minor fee hikeits a complete breach of trust.
Ignored Calls, Empty Promises
What makes this worse is the schools absolute disregard for communication:
Multiple calls to the administration since last Fridayno response.
A visit to the campus last Mondayno resolution.
A promised update by Fridaynever came.
Tomorrow is the fee payment deadline, and we are left in the dark.
If a school cannot uphold its own policies or even respond to parents concerns, what does that say about its commitment to students?
A Warning to Other Parents
This experience has been deeply disappointing. Schools should operate with integrity, especially when it comes to financial commitments. Changing fee structures without notice, ignoring parents, and breaking written assurances are unacceptable practices.
If youre considering Treamis (or any school), demand written confirmations on fee policies and be cautious of vague promises. A school that doesnt respect its agreements with parents may not prioritize your childs best interests either.
Final Thoughts
We are still waiting for a resolution, but this ordeal has already eroded our trust. Accountability and transparency should be non-negotiable in education. If the school does not rectify this soon, we will have no choice but to escalate the matter further.
Parents, be vigilant. Ask questions. Get everything in writing.
Why This Matters
Trust in schools is fundamentalonce broken, its hard to rebuild.
Hidden fee changes can strain family budgets unexpectedly.
Lack of responsiveness reflects poorly on the institutions management.
