I am writing this review after 3 months as I wanted to share many things and need time for this. We had an extremely distressing experience with Trueway Packers and Movers, and I strongly advise against using their services. Here’s a detailed descriptions of the painful experiences we went through while shifting our 2BHK stuff and cars with them.
- Deceptive Quotation Practices
The ordeal began with the initial quotation. We were quoted a reasonable amount for moving our household items and cars from Pune to Kolkata. For household items(including a RE bike), they quoted Rs. 49300 and 3% of insurance of Rs. 5Lakh, i.e, Rs. 15000. And for my 2 cars, they quoted Rs. 39500 and 1% of insurance of 13Lakh(Rs. 13000). The total was Rs. 116800 and we finalize the deal in Rs. 116000. However, once the process started, after they packed and taken the items in their warehouse(in Pune), the actual costs skyrocketed, leaving us feeling deceived and financially strained. They added Rs. 3500 for additional packing charges and 18% GST extra on overall bill. That comes total Rs. 138804. Despite having a written quotation, they found ways to add unexpected charges, which significantly increased the total cost of the move. This bait-and-switch tactic was frustrating and dishonest. They said that we have to pay to labour and other charges and this can’t be waived. Our cars, bike, all household items were with them and we about to catch flight from Pune to Kolkata. So, therefore, we didn’t have any other option but to pay them, whatever they want and finalized to pay Rs. 135000 total(refer the photo)
- Broken Promises and Poor Handling
We were promised that our belongings would be transported in a covered 22ft container truck from Pune to Kolkata. They told that a big container inside Pune city as well as in a society would be difficult to get permission. However, during the initial move from our Pune home to their warehouse, they used small trucks in two shifts(refer the photo), assuring us that the final transit from Pune to Kolkata would be in a covered container. This mismanagement showed a total lack of professionalism and care for our belongings.
- Damaged and Lost Items
The handling of our household items was atrocious. Our orthopedic mattress got torned and damaged. The level of carelessness was appalling; it seemed like our items were thrown around rather than carefully transported. One kitchen box went missing, and they couldn’t locate it and we were following up with them for months, visited their(third part vendors location) warehouse to identify the package, but no luck. Most of the boxes were damaged, and the corners of all our big furniture items were chipped and dented. Scarstiscally, they told us that "at least big items like OLED TV, 660L fridge and washing machine are in good condition and not broken"
- Vendor-Based Operations
Trueway Packers and Movers don’t have their own packing, transport and delivery team. Instead, they have tie-ups with multiple vendors. These vendor people come and pack your items, leading to inconsistent service quality. Similarly, for transport, they rely on other companies and send your cars with different packers and movers. They also don’t have delivery people at different destinations like Kolkata, relying on local vendors to deliver the goods. They pack your items in curtain box like "huggie", "joy n joy" boxes. A professional packers always use their own labelled boxes, and they are not. This lack of a dedicated team adds to the chaos and lack of accountability.
- Delayed and Inconvenient Delivery
They packed and took all our items on March 22nd and 23rd, promising a timely delivery. However, after continuous follow-ups, our items were delivered late at night on April 2nd. The delivery team arrived at 11 PM and worked until 2:30 AM, which was a nightmare for us. We had to take special permission from society management and had to pay additional fees for this, because of liftman, electrician and maintenance team from society supposed to be there during movement. This delay caused significant inconvenience and stress. In Kolkata, all our household items, including a Royal Enfield bike, were transported in a small 14ft open truck. My new bike was in terrible condition, with all the heavy furniture items dumped over it. The lack of respect for our belongings was evident.
- Mishandling of Cars

Additionally, several car accessories were stolen, including a car Ganesh idol, the internal SD memory card of the dash cam, a turbo charger, an iPad holder, 3M fiber cloths, and a Type-C charging cable. Their response was shockingly dismissive, saying, "at least you got the car without any accident or major dent." When I handed over the EV car, it was 100% charged. When delivered, it was at 3%, indicating heavy use of the AC without driving the car. For our other car, I had filled the tank for 160 KM, but it arrived with barely enough petrol to drive 10 KM. They had siphoned off the petrol. Both cars were delivered late at night, making it difficult to properly inspect their condition upon arrival. Conclusion
My honest suggestion is to avoid Trueway Packers and Movers at all costs. Do not trust their promises or their service claims. They assured us that we would receive regular updates and videos, but none of these materialized. To save a few thousand amount, you might end up in a much worse situation. Opt for a renowned and reputable moving company, even if it costs a bit extra, to ensure your valuable and loved items are handled with care and respect.
Don’t ruin your moving experience with Trueway Packers and Movers. Their service is simply not worth the risk and stress. In 2018, I relocated from Pune to Delhi and again shifted back to Pune after 6 months. I chosen a different service provider(I will not take name of that packer and movers as it would sound bias) and did not face any problem for both the times. However, selecting Trueway Packers and Movers in 2024 was my biggest blunder.
I see most of the reviews are very positive and that’s why tried this service in March 2024. It seems that all positive feedbacks are fake and paid.
