''When you learn to die, you learn to live..''

Beauty, philosophy, lovely and lively...! that was my experience with my ’’Tuesdays with Morrie’’!

Another wonderful book by Mitch Albom!

Mitch meets his professor Morrie once again in his life after about 15 years, only to find him in his death-bed or to be more precise in a state of gradual decay. The duo who struck a chord as a teacher and a student during Mitch’s college days loses touch after Mitch plunges headlong into making money, building a career and chasing fast cars and a fanciful life. Gone were thoughts of his professor and forgotten were the Tuesdays with his philosophy.

Morrie is meanwhile down with ALC, a fateful disease that kills parts of the body one by one culminating with the choking of breath when the lungs die too. Mitch sees his professor on the TV one day, staying as lively as ever given his short life span in front of him. That’s when Mitch braves to see the vacuum in his life and decides to meet his favorite professor once more.

What then follows is the rendezvous between the teacher and the pupil once more every Tuesdays. What we experience is a whole lot of philosophy for life, the alchemy of love, and the divinity of our souls....

We become one with Mitch

…..when he sheds every layer of his worldly sophistication,

…..when he adorns himself with garments of simplicity,

…..when he crumbles down seeing his professor die every day,

…..when he surrenders to love and a life of learning every moment

.....when he realizes what we carry forward after we reach our graves......

Morrie...a man with all heart, a professor with so much of wisdom, a father who seems to be with us thru the day, a life on this earth smiling till the end of the day...makes us think about our past, our professors, about the teachers who made or are still making a difference in our lives...

A little book that can be read in just a day in a train....but a whole lot of wisdom which can accompany us throughout this life’s terrain....

Did I learn to die from morrie? No...I learnt to live...fully and in the ’’now’’ :-)
