Do Not Be Fooled By The Promos...!

Tum Se Achcha Kaun Hai stars Nakul Kapur, Aarti Chabaria (these two are new-comers) and the Mobbahatein Kim Sharma...yes that’s right; the one with the squeaky voice!

Tum Se Achcha Kaun Hai is about a boy (Nakul) who lives in some part of Jaipur and his ambition is to be a super-singer, and he has a lot of faith in himself that he would be able to make it BIG! But part-time he drives this bus around for tours. In one of these tours he meets a pretty looking girl from Mumbai, (Aarti) and at first they have that typical ’’I hate you’’ relationship until (not long) they become frineds. Nakul also sings to her and she is impressed...well anyone would be impressed by Sonu Nigam’s voice! Time flows by and Nakul turns up in Mumbai to make it big and fulfil his dream. He goes to Aarti’s house and meets her mother played by Rati Agnihortri. Soon everything is well and he becomes a favourite of the household and even starts to live with them. And...yes thats right...Nakul and Aarti fall in that typical Bollywood love!!! I would have said how sweet, but in this case...how typical! Nakul does roadshows and every other opputunity to talk and meet music directors (who do not really give a toos about him)...basically he tries to get himself noticed. And guess what he is noticed...by whom you say?...Kim Sharma...bet you did not see that one coming.

Kim Sharma plays a spoilt, rich brat and see seems a bit physco too! She makes Nakul’s dreams come true and.....OH NO!!!!....she too falls in love with Nakul! La La La La La!...seen all before..yes I know! As the movie unfolds, Kim tries every oppotunity to get hold of Nakul and keep him as her teddy bear forever. You have heard that dialodge before...’’Whatever I want, I always get it...’’ (but normally they are said in Hindi!) and that’s Kim’s attitude towards Nakul. Until he tells her that his only love is Aarti. In the end, Nakul and Aarti are together, but Kim ends up being mentally unstable and is forever to be in a wheel-chair.

Overall, as you probably realised yourselves, that the storyline is very typical and has a bit of ’’Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai’’ and a bit of ’’Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’’... but surprisingly I did not find this flick boring. Mainly because Nakul’s performance is very good, not bad for a debutant at all. He may not be your version of Vivek Oberieo (and Iam not saying his is) but he is not bad either. Aarti is not bad either, she tries her best and Kim Sharma; she does try but it was not anything special...she could have done well. There were times where it almost was song after song, but they are quite enjoyable, and one forgets this chain of songs.

My personal favourites are the title track and ’’Door Waadiyon se’’ and ’’Aap Jaise.’’ So this movie overall is not brilliant, neither is poor. I did first think by watching the promos that this was not a movie to watse your time upon, but I was proved wrong. So if you have time do watch this flick, but it is nothing really to go to the cinema to watch...something to watch at home. But do watch it!!
