Yesturday I watched the movie Tumhari Sulu in theatre.Talking about the movie, it’s an story of a housewife named Sulochana who lives in Mumbai with her family.It is not easy to sustain yourself while living in a big city like Mumbai.She’s married to a person named Ashok.She also has a child named Pranav.So her life is going as usual.Her husband Ashok works in a garment factory.He’s is a very hardworking guy and also very good human being.Sulochana nickname is Sulu in the movie.Sulu is a nice good heart lady.But there’s something always keeps on running in her mind that she also should do something in life.Because her younger sisters are doing some job or some work in their lives.Also her father use to taunt her by saying that neither you were good in studies nor you are doing any work in your life right now, you are just wasting your time.Why don’t you work somewhere, in a bank or may be doing some other work.She also keept on sharing it with her husband that why not we do this work or that work.She also keeps on participating in different contest which happens on Radio and also use to win some prizes because of this.Although she’s happy in her life.But one thing always keeps on running in her mind that she should also work somewhere.So one day she goes to Wao radio station to collect her prize.From where she gets the news that the radio station is looking for a new RJ.So she quickly goes there and talks with Albeli Anjali, who is an RJ thay she wants to become an RJ.But of course she doesn’t have any background or any work experience for that.But still the head of the radio station i.e Maria, Sulu meeets her and requests her for becoming an RJ.Firstly Maria wasn’t sure about it bacuase she doesn’t have any work experience, also she’s very simple lady.So she wonders how she fit in as RJ.The producer of this show Pankaj also takes her voice test and he is convinced that she doesn’t have any future in this.But Maria thinks that there’s some spark or something different in Sulu.So thats why she gives a show to Sulu on her radio station.It’s an late night show with Sulu.From the first episode itself the show takes off in a really big way.And Maria, who’s the head of the channel is convinced that this show will do great.So the initial resentment all and all vanishes.She actually gets very found of Sulu.Because she knows that Sulu will do great for her channel.Sulu’s urdiness and her grounded talks were very much loked by the listners.But slowly there’s some resentment in her family.Her husband Ashok doesn’t likes that she goes in late night.Also he hears her talking to auto rickshaw driver etc on the show.He also gets to know something about her which doesn’t know.Plus her elder sisters, their husband and her father, they don’t like her working as an RJ in a radio station.Because of her work she couldn’t give her attention to her son.As a result he gets into bad influence.So she faces all these problem.So in the end she able to overcome all these problems as she gets the family support.And she keeps on working as an RJ.
Talking abou the Performance, Vidya Balan as Sulochana has done great job in playing her character.Manav Kaul as Ashok and Neha Dhupia as Maria has also done nice job.
Talking about the music, the songs in the movie were quite nice to hear.All the songs were beautifully jellying with the movie.
Talking about the cinematography, the director Suresh Triveni has done grat job in terms of directing the movie.The screenplay in the movie was quite nice.
