Nice to see lot of reviews... Being an apache RTR rider I would like to express my own experinces with the bike..First ill tell u guys about me so u guys could match it up with ur self.. Because each person being different with in themselves..
Im an IT guy so I doesnt ride my bike much.. Bought my bike by sep 2008 I just rode about 5000KM.. I hardly go more than 20 KM/day..Then weekend long drives(150-200) KMS.. Basically id like to race with others.. During weekend drives I use to drive my bike to max speed with my friends.. Then in weekdays I use to go in normal city conditions with max speed but never go beyond traffic limits..
Sorry about my long introduction.. Lets focus on bike now..
BALANCING
Bike is excellently designed for people who is 5.3 - 5.9 FT high.. You feel like you stick to the bike(excellent balancing).. Bike give excellent balancing so peole feel confident when you overtake in a hefty traffic conditions..
Im 6.2 ft high so ifeel bit hard when I go for long drive bcoz of the bike position..I live in chennai and I drive in peak hours of traffic, I reach my home in jus 40 - 45min of 22KM distance by overcoming hefty signals and traffics and at last but not least the bumpy roads even..
I need to tell u guys after I completed 750 km my stupid friend took my bike for a ride and met with an accident in this incident bikes fork lost its shape and it needs 7000 Rs to shape up and still im riding the bike the same way it is.. Even then it gives u great balance..
He has CBZ extreme and I feel the people who has this bike doesnt know how to ride sports bikes.. On the whole bike gives excellent balancing.. No comparison with other bikes here..
MILEAGE
Bike is tend to give 40-45kmpl.. althogh it depends upon petrol pumps I hope.. If I fill tank in bharath petroleum near my home and in indian oil pump near my office then the bike gives around 48-52 KMPL.. My min driving speed is 50 KMPH and I accelerate up to max speed (I DON"T GIVE SMOOTH ACCELERATION - BCOZ I USE TO RACE WITH ALL THE PEOPLE IN ROADS)
ACCELERATION
Bike gives great power only at high speeds.. Acceleration from 30 - 55 KMPH is lesser compared with other bikes in this segment and it goes down even with 125 - 135 cc segment.. But when u cruise above 75 then u r the leader of the road.. I bet no one can get u but I dont want to bet with P200 and karizma...
Bike drives up to 120 KMPH without effort, my MAX speed is 123(WITHOUT PILLION RIDER).. I think it would catch up to 125..But my friend bought the bike on oct2008 and he dragged up to 160KMPH I dont what he did.. Since speed gets recorded in DIGI meter u cantt cheat others.. I see my friend dragged up to 160KMPH in his DIGI meter and it still sounds miracle in my mind..
LOOKS
Fantastic look and I personally feel the look is great and especially digital meter is awesome has 2 TRIP meters and high speed gets recorded..
PERFORMANCE
Bike has vibration when u go beyond 60KMPH and freezes till 75 - 78 KMPH but above 80 KMPH u dont feel the vibrations..In bumpy roads the pillion riders feel hard as the bike is designed in such a way that the pillion riders feels that they sit in a high chamber.. Gear shift is excellent and smooth but between 1st, 2nd and neutral u feel hard but if u get use to that then u feel comfortable..
Then braking is excellent but gives rattling sound(FRONT DISC) and I informed this to TVS service centre and they dont have any clue for this and atlast I found lot of APACHE RTR has the same problem..People with good physic can go for this bike as this bike weighs heavy for small guys..
OVERALL A GOOD BIKE AND HAS GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY WHEN COMPARED WITH HONDA UNICORN AND P150.. Never lets u down in any situation..
PRICE
around Rs 68, 000/- on road when I bought the bike.. But now it is reduce to Rs 65 536/- on road..Thats all about my bikes review and guys please post ur comments and queris ill be happy to reply u guys..
