Earlier we owned TVS Victor for almost 8 years. We have been looking for a decent bike in 150-160cc range for a month or so before finally deciding upon the new Apache RTR160 hyper edge. I made in depth research before finally making THE decision and finally purchased bike on 03.12.2011 and we got it delivered within 2 days, although, without RTO passing. Its been 10 days now and I chose to write here analyzing few common factors.
To compliment its looks, the power of bike is fabulous. To control such power, the bike must have the handling and control. Believe me friends, TVS has worked out this factor very well, which gives excellent control over the bikes handling. Pick up is amazing. 0-60 is reached within a flash (~3.5 sec). The comfort factor is worth mentioning here. If one rides the bike leaning forward with more body-weight on the handle, one may find it painful initially and may cause back-pain after a long ride. Thus, one has to maintain the seating position as upright as possible to gain the optimum pleasure of ride.
I have ridden it for 400 kms till now and the calculation gives me the mileage of 53 km/l. I am positive that it would go up by 2-3 km/l after first servicing. Being a new bike, I have taken care not to exceed the speed beyond 55 km/h and not to accelerate suddenly. The bike was then priced Rs 72, 497/-.
For this price, and based upon the stats gathered on personal experience, it is surely the leading performer in its segment. I would definitely recommend it.
