TVS Flame

This is Ramkumar from Bangalore. This is the first time I m posting a review in Mouthshut.com. After doing a research for about 30 day I decide to book TVS flame. I had four bikes in my mind .

Intelligent machine with all high end feature... Little bit short for tall person like me. Also I am really not comfortable with the Gear shfting knob. From my test drive I realized that wearing shoes it will be little difficult to use the gear shifting knob. Also Mileage was my main concern. Show room peoples told me 40 -45 km / litre. if you are using bike regularly for office going this will be expensive.

1. Plusar :

Same as apache with all feature.. Same mileage and maintanence concerns which made me stand out of this.

1. Bajaj XCD :

Mileage wise very good option. But when you compare the external look and design with TVS FLAME. Flame will win the race. Also when I did a test driver I felt the vehichle is little bit weight less compared to tvs flame.

1. TVS FLAME :

I took long time for me to do a test drive of this vehicle. From test drive I coudn’t make out the peformance of the vehicle. But I can realize the vehicle is more solid than its competitor XCD. Also I felt there is value for the money in sort of the look, Weight. Showroom peoples assured me minimum of 60 km/  litre milegae. TVS Says 70 m / Lit.  After booking it took 30 days for me to get this bike. I have ordered for Disk Brake option, Wherein I got a call that Disk brake vehicle will take another month ( Even that they are not sure) so I felt I can go for this drum brake model. When I went to showroom for paying the money they said they have only red and black. After a long fought. I got to know that they have limited availability of Black and Silver model. Then immediately I got the vehicle delivered on the same day.  I took a hand grip as a extra fitting. Crash Guard comes with the vehicle. There isnt any extra fitting required than this.

Negative with Flame  : Locking system with the small storage near the tank is not so good. We need to hit it few times to get it locked.  Horn which they provide with the vehicle is useless. We need to change that immediately.

Positive : Excellent front panel design. Heavy beam light.  Trip meter, Odo meter, clock.

Two days since I have take this and I have driven some 20 kms. I can slowly realize that performance is good. Gear shifting is smooth if you use the clutch in good position and release it in a good way.

Note : As of now there is no booking or no sale of Flame in any of the TVS showroom in Bangalore.
