Hi guys,
I am from kerala and I purchased a TVS flame almost 2 and a half years back from the trivandrum dealer Anton autos..From the moment I decided to purchase a TVS bike, many of my friends discouraged me pointing the poor performance of their bikes, except from Apache. But I had a pleasant experience with them with my old bike (TVS victor) since it had given me 70 km mileage, decent pickup, and not much of maintenance cost....So I purchased this one, expecting that its cool looks wl reflect in its performance also...
good things first....the bike is looking cool...its stability is also good....
there ends the plus list!!!!
Cons....
1)the sales and service team of tvs in Trivandrum: If u r opting to buy a tvs bike (!!!), then please dont go to Anton TVS, go anywhere else...thats the quality! At the time I purchased the bike, there was the offer of one Reebok jacket which the company ensured at the time of delivery...
But I got this one after about 25 telephone calls, 4 personal visits, and then a complaint lodged to the TVS office in Chennai... (the figures of telephone calls are no exaggeration...) they simply find so many excuses for not giving the jacket, like no stock available, no information from Chennai, and so on and so forth..
Finally after the instruction from Chennai, they are forced to give me one jacket...when I went to collect it, the sales team is teasing me, saying I have gone too far for getting just one jacket....!!! and this happened after 2 months of purchase....similar is the style of services team...
- Electric start... fed up with this one... pointed out so many times with the services team but they cant fix it...i m using the kick start now...
The interesting part is that if we are pressing the kicker a little bit strong, it will go under the silencer and then will stuck there...then we have to fix it with our hands and then try our luck once again!!!
- heavy knocking sound when I am trying to over 50 kmph....the sound is unbearably high and started after 500 km...in low speed and high speed (above 65), not much of problem is there...I contacted the services team...first they told me that its the problem with headlight assembly....
They fixed it and after 2 hours the problem again started...then they told me that its the problem with high lead petrol...I told them that I am using pulsar, victor bikes and they are not giving this sound even after 15k kms and I m using the same petrol in this vehicle also...
But they stick to this opinion and told me that its necessary to de-carbonize the engine and I have to pay for it (after 500 kms only!). I protested and they finally fixed it...after about 1000 kms, the problem is again there...and its gong on!!!
Pickup: Most awry part of this bike...even a 100 cc bike can perform much much better...particularly if u r having a pillion rider and u r riding a small inclination....unbelievable to go to 2nd gear for that (even 1st gear sometimes if the inclination is a little bit steep) whereas my 100 cc victor can climb it easily in 3r gear...
Morning start: Mad with applying choke and then rising the throttle for more than 5 minutes to get the bike to a riding position...the missing is happening so badly during the riding, particularly in the third gear....
Seating position: gives u a good back pain because of the awesome riding seat position....
Mileage part is okay as I am getting 55 kmpl...but I am not understanding the magic of the the bikes milage indicator (which the company introduced as a "revolution") showing 83-84 at the same time.....
its utmost disappointing performance from this much expected avatar of TVS...I am planning to buy a new bike now, either honda dazzler or pulsar 150(no more TVS Please!!!) but the problem is that nobody wants my bike in the secondary market...the price they are quoting is less than the exchange price offered by the company!
Really sorry if I hurt anybodys feelings...but what I had written is the very naked truth that I felt...
Thanks and regards
Shaji
