So, I’ve been riding the new TVS Jupiter ( the updated 2024/2025 model) for about a month now, covering roughly 800 km mostly in city traffic. I see a lot of spec-sheet comparisons online, but I wanted to write down what it’s actually like to live with this thing daily.
If you’re looking for a generic "it has a 113cc engine" review, this isnt it. Here’s the real deal on how it behaves on our roads.
WHY I BOUGHT IT ?
I honestly just needed a workhorse. I looked at the Activa 6G and the Access, but the Jupiter won me over mainly because of the storage and the seat size. I carry a lot of random stuff—gym bag, groceries, laptop—and the under-seat space on this new model is actually massive. They claim it fits two helmets; realistically, it fits two small open-face helmets. But for my single full-face helmet and a rain jacket? It swallows them easily.
THE GOOD STUFF
- The "Pick-up" is surprisingly good:
They have this "iGO" assist thing which sounded like a gimmick to me at the showroom. But on the road, it actually works. When you are at a signal and need to overtake an auto or a bus quickly, there is a decent shove of power. It doesnt feel sluggish like the old 110s used to when you had a pillion rider.
- Comfort is king:
TVS always nails the suspension, and this one is no different. I go over some pretty nasty potholes on my commute, and it doesnt rattle my spine. The seat is also long enough that if I have a pillion, we arent knocking helmets every time I brake.
- The Fuel Filler:
Finally, having the fuel filler in the front is a blessing. I dont have to get off the scooter at the petrol pump. It sounds like a small thing, but when you are in a rush during morning peak hours, it helps.
THE NOT-SO-GOOD ( REAL TALK)
- The Styling is. a choice:
The new LED light bar across the front? My friends are split on it. Some say it looks futuristic; I think it looks a bit like a tube light. It definitely grabs attention, but I preferred the understated look of the older Classic models.
- Mileage Reality Check:
The dash is optimistic. It often shows me an average of 60-62 kmpl. When I do the tank-to-tank method, I’m getting about 50-52 kmpl in mixed traffic. It’s decent, but dont expect the 65+ numbers the sales guy promises unless you ride at 40 kmph constantly ( which nobody does) .
- Vibrations:
Its smooth up to 60 kmph. Once you cross 65 or 70, you start feeling a buzz in the floorboard and the mirrors. It’s not terrible, but it reminds you that this is still a commuter scooter, not a racing machine.
THE VERDICT
Is it perfect? No. The plastic quality around the speedometer buttons feels a bit cheap, and I wish the turn signal switch had a better "click" feel to it.
But as a package? It’s hard to beat. It feels lighter to handle in traffic than the Activa, and the utility/storage is just miles ahead of the competition right now. If you want something to just "fill it, shut it, forget it" but with enough space to carry your weekly groceries, this is the one to get.
Rating: 8/10. great family scooter, just ignore the claimed mileage figures.
