I purchased by Fiero F2 in Sept 2003. At that time I had clocked aroung 95, 000kms on my splendor in 6 years and wanted to go for a powerful150cc bike.
The obvious choice was Pulsar, however the only thing that stopped me from buying pulsar is that I saw so many of them in pune, that I decided not to go for it.
My friend suggested me to have a look at the newly launched F2, so I went to Chattrapati Auto (Bhandarkar Road) and took a test drive. The salesman told me about the Rectangular Swing Arm that allowed to take some sharp turns and I was quite impressed by the road grip and turning. Also I felt a great power as compared to my speldor.
So decided to go for it.(Note that I was not happy with the looks of the bike, but the riding comfort made my decision easy). In the initial period I got around 52Kmpl fuel efficiency (which I was happy with)
6 years forward, clocked around 50, 000kms, it is giving me a fuel efficiency of around 48-49kmpl. Servicing the vehicle after every 3000kms helped me a lot to maintain the bike in good condition.
Positives of Fiero F2:
# Riding comfort
-- Gives a nice feeling of grip on the road
-- Rectangular swing arm helps in taking sharp turns
-- No back-aches on long drives
# Fuel Efficiency
-- Consistently gave me in between 48-52kmpl (in last 6 yrs)
Negatives of Fiero F2:
# Looks
-- looks are not up to the mark
This bike is no longer available (still thought of sharing my experience). It is really a good performer. I really like it. Just the fact that it will be completing 6 yrs next month (and that I changed my first bike after 6 yrs) made me think that its time to get a new bike. However I dont think I will be going for it, since my goal is to purchase a BULLET. So may be I will be using it for next 2 yrs and then go for a BULLET.(my ultimate dream bike)
