TVS Chennai – Cheaters & Worst Service

Hi Everyone,

Long ago I wrote a review on TVS Phoenix (https://mouthshut.com/review/TVS-Phoenix-125-review-qsmsnrtmtr). I was more than happy when TVS people had engaged in resolving the issues that were reported. TVS guys made several attempts to fix the wheel wobbling problem. Nothing worked out. It took almost 4 months, for them to admit that it’s a manufacturing defect and the problem could not be resolved. Mr.Velmurugan (Chennai Area Head) offered for a replacement. First, I was reluctant to the offer; I couldn’t digest the fact that it cannot be repaired.

After several discussions with TVS guys in Chennai, I agreed for replacement. Mr. Velmurugan & Mr. Sathish compelled me to bear the registration cost. That was completely unacceptable. (Why should I bear the cost of registration when the bike has come with a manufacturing defect?) Discussions went forth and back, and finally I agreed to pay for the registration.

For few days there was no communication on replacement. I called Mr. Velmurugan for several times, he was busy all the time, and didn’t even care to answer my phone. It was too much of patience from my side, and decided not to continue with it any further. I called Mr. Velmurugan and asked about the replacement, he said that the replacement policy doesn’t exist in TVS. He also offered a cunning workaround, which suggested me to sell the bike to them at a price of 33, 000/- and buy a new one (for which I had to pay 30, 000/-). I argued and to my last breath, and it was in vain. It was complete cheating by TVS guys especially Velmurugan & his team at Ramkay – Chennai.

Later, I came to realize that it was a well-played replacement drama by TVS guys. If it was not in their policy to provide replacement, then why did they offer for a replacement?

FYI: I reported this problem on (20-Mar-2013), the very next day after I bought this bike. It’s almost 1 year and the issue is still now not yet resolved. They too don’t know what is the issue and how to fix it.

I will never recommend any TVS product to any of my friends, colleagues, relatives and I strongly discourage you from buying TVS products, especially if you are looking for better after sales service. Also, TVS guys in Ramkay – Chennai are real good experts in cheating and harassing customers. You could still buy TVS products, provided you have good lawyers to take them to court for selling defective products. Note: There is no re-sale value for TVS products, so I would suggest you to go for some good brand in the market which has more resale value.
