I love SaregamaPa Challenge 2005 very much & have never missed a single episode of that. But now I feel that it’s getting disgusting. The judges are eliminating finest singers like Keka (Jai Ho) who are one of the best. In the episode telecasted on 21st October, it was strange to see the Judges (Anandji and Kumar Sanu) showing Red card to Keka altho’ she was the best performer on both the days of that week.
Keka is an excellent singer. Has an excellent voice quality, great control, a very wide voice scale both low & high. She is a confident performer who has consistently performed in all the episodes. These are all which makes her an Excellent Playback singer. She would have been one of the strongest contenders in the “Agnipariksha”. It was a big injustice to Keka who should have been the first green card holder on that day and then Himani. Raktima should have been given red as her performance was not good that day.
In the past Two episodes (21st October & 14th October), two of the finest Female singer’s has been eliminated (Keka & Ujjaini). So I have started doubting the decisions in the program. It seems that Zee have problems with bengali singers (Lady Singer at present but I am sure that fate of Debu has already been decided). Is it because 1) The once Winner of SaregamaPa Sreya Ghosal shows up more in Sony than in Zee……. Or…….
I may sound like a die hard bengali on one side but I feel that Raktima (Bengali) is wrong fit for “Agnipariksha”. Altho’ she is a great singer but not up to the level of “Agnipariksha”
Kumar Sanu has been the biggest Bengali Snob at all times and bringing him as a Judge & eliminating these fine Singer (who Fortunately/Unfortunately are Bengali’s) was really pathetic.
Don’t you think Zee is getting too obvious to promote only North Indian singers whether they are better than others or not or are they up to killing these fine bengali singers.
