I bought a scooty Pep fashion series scooter for my sister. Its completed 690 kms and its first service. The vehicle is good for city use. I saw even more guys are riding scooty pep than girls. An affordable one for many. I have listed the pros of the vehicle below.
Seating position is good. I appreciate TVS for providing a good seating position. I have faced seating problems in my Star city and my friend’s Apache. But scooty is a pleasure to ride. Even my sister does not feels any uncomforts in her daily ride. And the light weight also acts as a boon to girls as its like a swift in traffic.
Mileage is also good. Scooty gives around 50kmpl. The highest mileage my sister’s scooty acheived is 51 Kmpl. U will get more mileage if u drive in Economy and mileage slightly reduces if the vehicle is rode in Power mode. But overall a good mileage for the scooty.
I will give 4 out of 5 for the looks. Good quality paint and sticker job. The Speedometer and the fuelmeter are neatly placed and it does its job well. Mobile charger and front glove box are provided and I thank TVS for not charging any extra amount for those valuable things. But its not advisable to use the mobile charger in standstill as it increases the battery consumption. A neatly placed silencer with a good cover.
A good 90 cc engine producing 5bhp. Pickup is good and it reaches 60kmph in ease. But it is not advisable to go more than 60kmph in scooty. The maximum speed is around 65 kmph. But I have instructed my sister not to cross more than 50kmph as it may be dangerous while braking.
Tyres are of good quality. It comes with tuff-up tube in front and rear for reducing sudden chances of puncture. Both front and back tyres are 3.00*18 and it does its job well and also helps in braking.
The front and the rear shocks works well and gives a comfortable ride. The front suspension is a telescopic one. The underseat storage is also good and helps in carrying necessary items. There is also front hooks which can also hold some items.
So now here are the cons of the scooty pep.
Braking: Braking is Ok. It might have been better with 130mm drums instead of 110mm drums. I hate TVS in braking part. Even in Star city, 110 mm drums are used in the rear wheel.
After sales service is very poor in TVS, which makes Tvs vehicles difficult choiceto buy.
The vehicle is not reliable in rain. It does not perform well in rainy and water clogged roads. I think it s because of the engine position.
Apart these cons, TVS scooty pep is a worth buy. It does not burns your pocket and you will be satisfied in all aspects. I am also satisfied with the vehicle. Overall Tvs scooty pep is a good package and if TVS had concentrated in braking(should be provided with 130mm brakes) and service, scooty will surely a better buy for all.
