More than 3 years hve passed, when I bought my first bike, the tvs star city..In those days, i never road a bike b4, so I dint knew, what u mean by -pickup, handling, n all.....
I jst loved the bike..Now my father rides it, my second bike was the Yamaha Gladiator, n now I hve a Apache RTR 180. Now after riding so many bikes, I can say abt its pros n cons.....
pros-
1)Excellent milage--it still delivers a constant milage of 70 kmpl..(fact is that, this bike is really maintained well:in those days, i never use 2 rip it hard, n ride within 45-55 kmph, [now the YAMAHA spoiled me though..HAHA])
2)Maintainance cost--this is a place where I still cant find out why r people complaining abt the bike....ABSOLUTELY NEGLIGIBLE MAINTAINANCE COST....now, if u know how 2 maintain a bike, u d never face problem...let is b a pulsar, or a Honda, every bikes hav som problems, its jst that u know how 2 take care...love ur bike, it will love u....(n the service is very important)
3)The engine--its been some 50000 kms, n the engine sound has not changed a bit......i change engine oil every 2500 kms...
4) Quality--it has no rusting problem.....even my Gladiator’s silensor had rusting problem, even though it was bought a year after the star city.....
now comming to cons-
1) Vibrations--now this is a part, where the tvs is not at all perfect, the vibration jst creeps in when u touch 55 kmph...even my new apache RTR hve the vibration problem at around 65-70 kmph..
2) pick up--its a gud bike for city.....bt once u take it 2 the highways, u wld feel somthing lagging....u ll find even the Passions r picking up well n u cant climb steep slops with a pillion.....though the new star city 110 cc has better pickup.....
3) Rear shock absorbers--those r really stif.....n hurts in long drives...can giv u back pain if u travell in bumpy roads 4 half an hour....bt who cares, its a perfect city commuter...
verdict.......
Its a great bike at that cost......what more can u get??
All comfort comes at a cost.....perfect value for money....
Bt it demands a special care 2 b taken, which it really deserves........

it was due 2 this quality product, that I chosed my apache RTR again from TVS’s stable without a second thought.....
