I was looking for a Bike, which can give Good Mileage, Comfort Ride, Looks in a 100cc category. I studied & closely observed the market for about 6 months, I found few Bikes like CT100 DLX, CD Dawn DLX, STAR DLX (on launch of these Bikes, Splendor looks an outdated model, therefore this is not considered).
Out of the 3 Bikes, CD Dawn DLX is not giving less mileage when compared to CT100 DLX & Star DLX. I could have bought CT100 DLX, however, statistics reveal that the BAJAJ AUTO has been discontinuing their models without any reasons, which is unfair on the owners of these Bikes. Therefore, I concluded to go for Star DLX. For some reasons I postponed the buying decision.
I also checked out Super Splendor 125cc & Discover 125cc. I found that these Two Bikes are though in premium segment, the finishing is not so good if closely observed. Therefore could not buy any of them.
In meanwhile, I found that TVS Motors has launched a new variant of STAR i.e., STAR CITY. On first sight I like this Bike. The looks are excellent, additional features are halogen lamp, night glow, pass button, adjustable shock absorbers. Without any second thought, I bought the STAR CITY paying Rs.38650/- on Road in Bangalore.
I did only 540 Kilometers in this Bike. The Bike STAR CITY is giving me excellent mileage of 73.5 KMPL of petrol. This mileage is before 1st service, after the 1st service I hope this will give 75 – 80 KMPL. The Bike has a tank capacity of 16 liters, which means once you fill the tank whole month you need not re-fill. For a monthly petrol cost of Rs.750/- to Rs.800/- you can ride the Bike without any problem. The monthly cost of petrol for this Bike is so low that it is almost equal to the monthly Bus Pass cost.
The looks & comfort of the Bike is so good that this is suitable for any category of persons from college Boys to Executives.
