Hello everybody.
The all new TVS Star recently launched by TVS motor company is recording good sales figures all over India.
Mainly this bike was launched to replace the old Max 100-r which broke records. In villages Max 100-r was the favourate bike and nearly every person owned it. Tvs was the first company to set up authorized service centers in rural areas in India.
But the the most important ques is that will the Tvs Star is capable of replacing the King Max 100-r? The answer is yes as it has got the reliability of Tvs and trust of people all over India. Hero Honda CD Dawn , Yamaha Crux and Bajaj CT 100 are others in the same competion.
Now about some technical details of the bike-
It is a 99.7 cc four stoke, air cooled engine producing a max torque of 7.5Nm @ 5500rpm. Tank capacity is 16 litres with 2.5 in reserve. One important thing is that Tvs has provided a 3.00x18 over 2.75x18 tyre at rear which is wider as compared to other bikes in the same segment. When I took the test drive of this bike I felt the power transmission very smoooth just like my Fiero Fx. It has got a good low end torque so city driving is comfortable and less gear changes are required.
Milage as inquired from the showroom guys is a healthy 65+ in the city and can extent upto 80+ on highway depending on the driving condition and driving style.
When the bike was launched immediatly the response was good as I started seeing lot of Bikes in Indore and even my relatives in Shirpur(village) are replacing their old HH Cd100 with Star.
Tvs star has been launched in two Varients that is plain one with simple plain and jane looks and other one which is The Star Dlx having a sportier taillight and new graphics for more urban appeal. Both models have little price diff.
So Guys if u want a reliable , ruf and tuf bike in entry level segment then go for Tvs Star.
Regards,
Pushkar
