Hi folks .. writing my first review in mouthshut I chose to write about my mo-bike - a F2 which is 8 months old. Im not a specialist I agree - but then Ive used 3 more models before this - calibre, suzuki AX100 ( the 1st japanese one ) and the great yamaha RX135.
I was looking for a bike mainly for city roaming as well as occational long rides. My points of consideration included -
balance between cost and power
initial investment
looks and style
durabilty in long run
riding comfort and handling
After taking a close look on pulsar, ambition, passion plus, lazer and wind I zeroed upon a dazzling black F2. why left CBZ? gr8 bike but too heavy to handle for me.
I liked the design and style of the bike. A stunning headlamp, decent stickering and a great aero-dynamic angle gives a head-turnaround. I felt comfortable to ride on the first day when I taken it to home. A good torque gives a decent acceleration even without shifting gears too much. U wont get this with other 4 strokes. The handle and riding position is not too high to get a very good manuoverity in city riding.
F2 costed me around 52k ( disc version ) in Delhi. The best deal in this segment - I would say.
Till date I got a mileage of 51 in cities - the machine becomes hungry if u cross 60kmph and theres a power light indicator to show it is in the high consumption mode.
The wide seats and the body angle makes it feels like sitting on a couch. Ive taken a 5 hrs. highway ride to meerut and I was not stressed at all. The bike fared well in ugly surfaces - the springs are good enough to absorb all the shocks and my girlfriend didnt even complain for the tummy-jerkers that she generally does on rough roads.
Pick-up? Be ready to fly first from the block when standing on a read-light. Highest power to weight ratio of F2 would ensure this to you. Ive taken lead on every other bike to start from a still position everytime. It comes with the 147.2cc engine which remains the same from the fierro made by suzuki - time-tested and steady.
Now comes the draw-backs - Should have equipped with the 5th gear - the mill cries for it if u go beyond 70 and thats the reason why pulsars and CBZs remain more steady on silky smooth good express ways. The rear-tyre should have been more wide and bigger one to give a better grip in wet roads.
And a piece of suggestion for buyers - do not stress the engine in the first two months. Let it season first and then pump the speed out of it. Just do not go for a air-zoom after you bought this right away - the mill would remain loyal to you for a longer time. Happy riding dudes.....
