I have been an avid reader of reviews of mouthshut.com for the past 6 months and felt that it is high time that I voice my opinion. Well, here goes!
What a better way to start than to write a review on my own tried and tested bike, the Fiero F2.
My bike has just completed 6 months on the fifth of this month. First a few general comments on this bike. This bike is now, getting the attention it required (Partially 2 B blamed due to poor advertising by TVS).
First impressions: it does catch the eye more often than not, looks sleek and unique though some might say it has a few Borrowed looks. May be true, but doesnt matter. I had to wait for over 5 weeks just for the color (Black). Not many adventurous people out there who would try to buy this silent assassin. (Young guns probably prefer Pulsars). No grudges there, cuz those are personal preferences.
Lets shoot straight forward to the Pros and Cons of the F2.
Pros:
The title itself should say it all. The bike is as silent as a speeding horse. All delivery, No Labor. Youve actually gotta honk to make sure the cars/bikes or the people ahead notice your presence from behind. I myself never knew the bike had started after having kicked it during the earlier days of my purchase. You actually feel the engine has cut-off after going over a speedbreaker, keeping the clutch pressed.
Mileage=A1, consistently get 55+ for the speed range that I ride (48 to 63kmph). Thats easily 10kmpl more than Pulsar150 and 20kmpl more than Pulsar180/CBZ.
Comfort=Easily the most comfortable bike that I have sat on. Broad seat makes it as comfortable, if not more than the Victor. Enough space for the pillion not to complain. Its a treat for the person behind. Especially, the gals!!!
Styling=Definately better than its predecessor. A new look & aerodynamic fairing. Impressive stickers. Comfortable footrests compared to Pulsar. A new look tank.
Engine & Performance=Definately up there! No noise, No vibrations, No hassles. Makes you wanna find an excuse to ride this beauty. Smooth handling, cornering and excellent braking. Pick up can only be beaten by >170cc bikes. Good height, mirrors, lights, indicators, etc. Gem of an exhaust note, fast but silent!!!
Now for the Cons:
Lack of a fifth gear=Im sure this has been brought about more often than not. Kinda makes you want more on the 4th gear at times. Makes a big difference compared to the 150DTSi (121 to 105 of the F2).
Rear tyre=Could have been like the one CBZ boasts off. TVS possibly dropped the idea considering mileage. Excellent on dry roads but I am a bit doubtful about the tyre in wet conditions though.
Handle=Though comfortable, could have been slightly smaller. The mirrors should be closer to the handle. Hits a lot of stuff in crowded places.
Enough said for this bike, all I can say it could probably be called the Fastest, quietest City bike of em all. Great job TVS. I am open to all your comments on this review. Lemme know. Happy & Safe riding!!!
