Fantastic Fiero F2

Hello MSians am back after a loong loong time. This rvu is here to compensate for my previous rvu on Fiero F2 which was copied from overdrive magazine. I was criticized a lot for that. I am extremely sorry for breaking the ethics. This rvu is totally flawless and based on personal experience.

TVS FF2- a bike totally for city commuting. this bike is for cool head and not for wing riders(UNICORN) nor for those who want to crush their balls ;-) (PULSAR) and neither for the famous petrol guzzler(CBZ ofcourse) .... those bikes are good in their respective contents..so is this one.

If you want style, substance, power, fuel efficiency, rigidity all in one machine , then this is the one definitely for you.

PRICE- F2 costed me on road Rs.53175 including road tax, insurance. Compared to other bikes in this category this is the cheapest of the lot.

FUEL EFFICIENCY – Well what can I say ! I was totally dumbstruck by the mileage it has delivered in city & highways. It has given 61 in city & 67 in highways if carefully driven at 45kmph-55kmph. Till now my bike has clocked 1400 kms . Surprisingly it delivered an avg mileage of 58 kmph in its RUNNING IN period. It obviously depends on how one drives & if you want optimum fuel efficiency from your bike then drive it between 40-50 kmph.

TECHNICALS – 150CC, 4 Stroke, 12.5 bhp, 0-60 in 6 secs. Top speed at 115 kmph. It breathes through a Mikuni CV carburetor . It has a rectangular swing arm for added stability & comfort. It has a Digital CDI Ignition which ensures optimum burning of fuel & uninterrupted power supply ultimately giving good mileage. One disappointing fact is it has 4 gears. At times I tend to miss the 5th gear in highways otherwise its okay. A well balanced & tweaked Telescopic For , 5 step adjustable shocks makes the ride even more memorable. Trip meter , side stand indicator, economy/power mode indicator, tachometer and all type of luxuries are there. Its instrument panel is well designed and it damn attractive. The RPM meter is given its right place in the console i.e at the centre to its left is the speedo & to its right is the fuel gauge.

PROS –

1.Great Mileage (9/10)

2.Good Pickup (8/10)

3.Very useful drive indicator.

4.Though does not boast techies like DTSi, Exhaustec, still then a much consistent machine.

5.Good TVS service network specially in the South.

6.Cheap

7.Very comfortable plush seats.

8.240 mm discs leave no stone unturned in stoppig the bike.

CONS –

  1. 4 gears.

  2. Pathetic Horn

3.Fuel indicator not correct at times.

4.Small tank of just 13ltrs, should have been atleast 15ltrs.

5.Very slippery & rain unfriendly rear tires.

6Cold start at times.

7.Not upto the mark graphics.

Would I recommend this bike ??

Till now u ppl must have guessed it. A big YES !

And 1 advice, to ensure this machine gives consistently good mileage use Veedol 4T Takeoff enegine oil, Valovoline Enegine Oils, Use DOT3 type oil for disc brakes, maintain proper tyre pressure all the time & ensure chain is tight all time. If these are done properly be assured of retriving a mileage of 65kmpl provided driven at 40-50kmpl.

Make sure to do regular battery check ups & do all the servicing in proper time. And please do not exceed the speed of 50 kmph during RUNNING IN period if u want this machine to be loyal to u for a longer period of time otherwise it is okay with me.

“AND MOST IMPORTANTLY…regardless the 2 wheeler u drive DON’T DO RASH DRIVING TO IMPRESS GIRLS AS IN THE PROCESS YOU MAY IMPRESS GOD…AND HE MAY CALL YOU TO HIM A BIT EARLY AND YOU COULD BE PERFORMING UR WHEELIES IN FRONT OF HIM “

Use helment(Steelbird, Bieffe) & have a valid driving license with you all the time , and obey traffic rules.

HAPPY BIKING
