I own a 2001 Fiero.
First the PROs...
Superb engine that gives smoothest acceleration and pickup. No wonder this tops the chart in racing year-after-year.
Very good dynamics for a city ride. Soft seat.
Honest fuel efficiency - around 55-60kmpl
Great top speed - I could notch up 117kmph.
Great straight-line synchronization and impeccable balance even at top speeds. Can travel at speeds of over 80kmph and no truck moving alongside will shake you off.
The grunt of the bike. Simply Awesome.
Now, the CONs...
Bad style. Cant match it with CBZ or Pulsar. Looks like a mean vehicle in front of these machos. Though the RED Fiero makes some statement loses out to the other 2 vehicles on a lot of grounds.
Poor headlight. Highly difficult to travel with 35 watts light without high beam during nights.
Tyres. Even a TVS Victor sports a good zapper tyre while Fiero does not.
Lack of Tacho & tripmeter. Youll never know at what rpm are you cruising. Infact, the instrument console as a whole can be improved. Pulsars instrument console is wow.
Drum brakes. A Disc brake shouldve done a lot of justice to this firing engine.
Bend angles. When u bend a lot something/some metal strikes the ground which leaves a fear in you to take bends.
With my experience I can only say this. If style doesnt matter you the most but still you want a performing motorcycle just go for the Fiero. Its ultimate. But wait. TVS would be rolling out Fiero F2 soon with good style. Just grab it once it is out in the market.
Already the drum brake factor has been taken care by TVS.
You can change the Fiero headlight with that of a CBZ, put a MRF Zapper 80/90 in the front, and a 90/90(no 100/90 pls - its fuel inefficient) at the rear, a disc brake at the front and a few tweaks here and there and youll see all the CONs I listed above disappearing.
Hey, R&D guys at TVS... are you listening to me?
