What do u want in your bike, Sir ? This is what the salesman had asked me when I went to buy my bike.
I replied solid speed , good reliable brakes, good mileage and nice looks .
I ended up buying FIERO.
It has a price tag of around 54000rs.
But what its offers is really worth that price.
SPEED - This bike offers you a speed of 100km/ph and that too without any vibrations.
Pick up is smooth and allows to race in front of the traffic when the light turns green from red.
It gives u 12bhp, which is just marginally less that cbz, its competitior in that segment.
MILEAGE - Fluctuates a bit in the start but stabilizes around 53-55km/l. Not a bad bargain for 150 cc bike
WHY NO DISC BRAKES ?
Well I ended up asking the same question to the salesman. And the explanation I received was good.
In Indian conditions and roads , you will be lucky if you can take the bike above 60km/ph. Do you really need disc brakes for this speed ? No. And even the disc brakes offered by other companies are very primitive ones.
LOOKS - The bike gives u compact looks. It does look smaller that other bikes in the segment.
The speedometer dial is very oldish and should be revamped. It doesnt have the dial which shows rpm.
Looks is one area where the bike does lag behind a bit , not much.
The other points where the bike scores is excellent grip on the road and light weight
DRAWBACKS -The light is definitely not the best and can be improved on.
As already mentioned the speedometer dial needs to be made more hi-tech.
The bike is supposed to give maximum mileage between 30-50km/ph. Now I would expect better range because once in a while I am definitely gonna race my bike at furious speed.
THE VERDICT -Every good thing in life has a price. This baby has its own. It might not be perfect but then seldom anything is. But its best you can get in this segment and at this prize. Worth every penny you spend on it.
