I bought a second hand one year old GLX more than a year back mainly because I was expecting to leave India in a year. I still havent though.
I am going to give mixed reviews bout this bike
Bike has very good height. Definitely a big plus point.
Reliable - It has never given me any kind of problems. apart from the cold starting issue where I need to use the choke
Mileage - Not great. Just Ok. As people already mentioned it gives good mileage only when your tank is atleast half full. Even then I never got 60. Probably my piece was the worst of all.
Suspension - Very good suspension. I actually got used to using it like a la mountain bike on the ever so failing hyderabad roads and bylanes. Very well manoeuverable in traffic and terrain.
Road Grip - Either it has a pathetic road grip or atleast it gives you a feel of a pathetic road grip. You somehow dont feel safe when riding the bike. I havnt ever fallen from it or skid from it though and neighter am I a slow driver. But it seems as if it can skid off very easily. There is certainly some problem with the back tyre. Thats a serious negative. Cos you would have lot of tension on your body trying to put in the extra control you feel would be necessary.
- @ high speeds - On contrary to the bad road grip it is superb at high speeds. I have taken it to 90 without even a hint of vibration. Havent been on many highways to try higher speeds.
However I would certainly like to mention that it does look and drive much better than most of the bikes driving on Indian roads(Definitely not for 40-50 year olds though). There is some kind of a big bad machine kinda, more rugged look to it among its segment of bikes( dont compare it with harley davidson though) . Definitely more manly than most bikes I have seen.
Overall I think you can get a better bike than this.
