TVS victor GL/GX/DLX/SUZUKI
*The only difference between the gx and gl is that
gl is the first version, the gx has improved some
features.like smoother kickstart, less noise engine,
*tvs also claims, it has better optimised pistons and
core components in GX version and named as
"dura-life"
now lets go ahead on 4 points.
1.Engine
2.Comfort &.Security
3.LongRun/Resale
4.What tvs victor has changed?
Engine:
a little bit on the higher side having 110cc,
and producing around 8-8.2bhp, its really impressive
ahead of the available 100cc bikes from hero honda.
it has a fancy "econometer" which has green and orange
indicator attached inside the fuel-gauge, showing the
economy level according to your accelaration
considering the mileage, it gives varied mileage
a constant-highway drive ensures sure 62-65kmpl
while city commuting gives only 55kmpl sure( ma be
sometimes 60kmpl)
power delivery of the bike is uniform, but the excellent
thing is the FIRST gear, it really helps to jump like a
horse when starting with a line of 100cc bikes from
a traffic signal
it could even record a high speed of 87kmph with
a pillion
Engine pros: quick response, smoother, mileage
minus: gear shifting problem, noise gradually increases
from the 20000kms onwards.Sometimes cold start needs
an extra kick, tougher kick operation.
Comfort:
it has a good head lamp, with a large multi-reflector
enabling clear matrix/border of illuminated area from the
dark.
easily Adjustable shock absorbers, was a good option and
can be changed according to our riding needs.
Large lengthy seat, wide too offering better support for the
rider and the pillion.
nothing special on front and back drum brakes,
plus: headlamp, front suspension, rectangular swing arm,
minus: rear suspesion good for single only, no great brakes.
Longrun/resale
the bike starts to wear out from the first 25000kms itself,
including all the parts. Even the chasis material is not upto
the quality. if the bike is used in both rain and hotsun.
the plastics and stickers become dull and keylock wont work
the huge problem is the material-quality ranging from the
normal screws to the engine holding chasis, it all rusts and
becomes very ugly and lost its lusture, even the shiny silencer
becomes brown.
the exhaust system of the bike is not that good, so if it was
not used for a couple of days it needs 5 kicks like its a kind of
diesel engine based bike.
no good resale value is available for this bike anywhere,
its good for the office goers and will be a companion for you
only for 3-4 years at its best
Whats tvs offered to the market? change?
certainly tvs has changed the 2 wheeler making a little bit.
namely offering
rider adjustable shock absorbers
better usage of horn/bulbs to use battery efficiently
large and good use of headlamps
econometer, very soft new engine performance
yamaha failed( ybx) in 125cc market, but victor
got it increasing from 100cc to 110cc successfully
usage of lighter materials and single chasis
for light weight riding and better mileage
introduction of PASS light switch and refreshing
indicator switches
first usage of rectangular swing arm, easier mounting
of components
successful advertising of the bike using SACHIN
" more smiles per hour "
*by the above advantages introduced by tvs, the ruling
rivals namely bajaj and honda started to introduce rectangular swing
arms and pass switch and lighter vehicles( even splendor underwent
weight-reduction, and noise-filter), almost all the bajaj made
vehicles after this has got adjustable shock absorbers
