Wego - light and zippy

Kms Clocked:  2500

Servicing:  2nd just done.

To start with, my search started for a regular non-gear bike for my sis that wud reduce her stress from the bus trips. I was more in for Access as it has a powerful engine n decent handling, though bulky to operate from an average female point of view.  Checked out the aviator, duro, and dio.  Dio had issues such as low mileage and early starting issues, which still a neighbor recently purchased struggles to start even after 5-10 cranks, so dint want to go for it.. Aviator was nice with pressed wheels and nice styling, but again a friend owns it and complaints of low mileage.

Went to book Access keeping in mind that the powerful engine wud make easy trips to market and great use for dad too.  The waiting period of 4+ months put me off and left the showroom as they were’nt ready to deliver earlier even after all cash and no test bike offered.

Then went to TVS showroom.. Surprisingly, they even offered a test drive. our heart was for wego now, it was smooth and with descent pickup.. With just 10 days left for the new year’s, decided to book it Jan.. Then got the news that there was an offer wherein accessories were offered on booking before 31st dec, so went ahead n did the booking.. Got the delivery the next day after making the payments..

Now lets come to the bike.. Handling is pretty ok, not felt anything different as hyped with the body balance thing.  Center stand to me was a bit hard to operative on rough surfaces.  Due to the additional lever so called the Ez-stand, it does not engage on uneven surfaces.  Normal center stand would be far better than it.  Brakes are good too.  Front discs would be welcome at this price. Front suspension being telescopic is best in class, it tends to be a bit more bumpy with the uneven surfaces transmitted to ur hands, rear is good.  Engine is quiet below 50 and a bit noisy above that.. Not tested the top speed yet..  Manual says its something around 85.

Alloys look great, though black color would look more better, but is definately an eye catcher.. Tail lamps are LEDs and front indicators are big and nice.

Seats are nice and big and comfy..

Morning starts are a breeze and we wave off the dio neighbor each time with a smile.. It takes only a single crank to start, not starting issues as of now..  The front dickkey could have been a big bigger as it can only hold small papers and documents and nothing else, but it sinks in pretty good and you can almost forget that a dickey in the front too exists. It does not fowl legs. Rear one is bigger and can accomodate a helmet and tiffin, thats it..

Handle bars are pretty high and does not fowl legs during full turns even considering by 6+ feet frame..

External fuel filler again means u can fill up like a bike without running around the bike to open the tank up :-)

Mileage???

This is another unexpected aspect from this bike.. in the initial 800-1000 km it returned only 30 kmpl.. It left us frustrated with the fuel costs rising and the distance travelled being more, was expecting at least 40 from it..

Later, after the first servicing it jumped to 58-60 and stays so till date.. Note that this readings are in traffic with sedate riding between 40-45 as she does not ride too harsh.. The figures will fall with harsh riding.

NOTE:  Mileage is measured by tankful method.

As of know, this automatic scooter has put even my Pulsar 180 to shame in terms of mileage.. lolz..

Its a great overall package.. Built quality is stable and great as there is all metal used unlike almost all the bikes employing fiber body.. The downside of this will be dents will cost a bomb to repaired.. Other than that its quite robust.

ASPECTS TO IMPROVE:  Bigger fuel tank as this holds merely 4 liters, larger front dikkey..

The headlamps are pretty powerful, but when it came from the dealer had it pointing towards the trucks.. I dont understand what is the reason for such a high setting, which has not use other than just to blind the ongoing traffic or was it just blankly set by the technicians during assembling. There is a bolt provided just below the headlamp if you watch careful, u can loosening it and relax the headlamp yourself.  Now the beam is perfect and not to mention powerful than my bike.. The spread is good and awesome. I am Jealous again.. ;-)

Thats all for now.. Will keep updating.  Take care..

Happy riding.. Ride Safe.. Always use a Helmet..
