Rajdoot 175cc true zero maintenance Bike

I must admit, that I missed the famous troika of indian bikes(Rajdoot, Yezdi and Bullet) in 70s, when they were the ones ruling the indian roads.

By late 80’s, when I had the money to buy one of my own bike, I opted for Hero Honda Sleek.(I still regret having opted for this bike and want to forget it as bad dream). I then went ahead and bought my self Suzuki Ax100 and Yamaha Rx100. I enjoyed both these bikes and has no issues with them.

It was then one fine day I had the strong urge to buy old time bikes. My first choice was to go for Yezdi, but then It was not being manufactured any more and I settled for my 2nd choice Rajdoot standard 175 cc. I must confess I am in for a very big surprise as far as performance of this bike goes.

It gives very decent 45Kmpl, without asking for any special treatment all 4 stroke bikes need. Being a two stroke, It also has much better ride quality as compared with equivalent bikes in 4 stroke group. I beleave Its low RPM engine(5000 rps against typical 8000rps engines of 4 stroke bikes) is the reason behind less wear and tear.

Although the bike is very good in all respects, but its sad that it gets step motherly treatment everywhere(even with in Yamaha) and this reflects very clearly, when one goes in for regular servicing. This basically is an issue, Yamaha needs to address on an urgent basis or else they will loose loyal customers of Yamaha, Esc*rt bike owners.
