First of all, I want to make it clear that the buying decision should be entirely a personal one. Never let anyone else influence your buying decision since you will be using the bike and not the person who gave the advice.
My choice will always be the Pulsar for various reasons. Its the best bike in its class in terms of looks and performance. Quickest off the block(if one is a speed maniac) and probably the most stable one. The dics brakes are necessary only for the speedsters.go for the normal drum brakes. Saves money too. Choose the kick start option, the button start option(on any bike) places a heavy load on the battery.
Even more important reason why I vote for the Pulsar(or for that matter any Bajaj product) is the relatively low cost of ownership. Spares are very reasonably priced and easily available in every corner of the country. The mileage is pretty decent, provided you do not plan to use it for racing around the town. Most mechanics can do the servicing and tuning(which helps if you go to nearby towns/cities and find you need some work to be done on the bike).
The best reason is its an INDIAN BIKE, not some dated imported design. Nurture the habit of buying Indian goods.
