20 best bets

I have always been a bike lover - one for its sheer utility & second for the fun. Here I try to list 20 best bikes

*Category 1:- Utility & budget

*BAJAJ CT 100: Best value you can get for your money, fuel efficiency, reliability, durability all top class for the segment.

TVS STAR:  Superb look in the class, good pricing, efficiency. Stability & handling better than Bajaj.

HERO HONDA CD DAWN: Best in fuel efficiency, engine reliability & resale value. A tested commuter.

YAMAHA CRUX: Best in class handling & stability. In terms of looks, efficiency & pricing competition has got the edge. But then Yamaha is known for the quality of machine.

LML FREEDOM: This bike proved to be race-winner for LML but nothing special to offer as compared to competition; though the smoothness is unmatched.

HONDA ACTIVA: Taking scooter in this review of bikes, because of the sheer capability, reliability & performance of this Moto-Scooter, only drawback is fuel-efficiency & for that it is not a bike.

*Category 2:- Utility with some Fun

*(Also know as executive-commuter segment)

BAJAJ PLATINA: Looks stunning, efficient engine, reliable & attractive pricing.

TVS STAR CITY: Good looks(not as good as Platina), better stability than the former & reliable.

YAMAHA LIBERO G5: Big bike look, stability, feel, power, speed are best in its class. Best gear box & reliability. If you are looking for a high level feel in this segment & do not worry for a 5 liter less efficiency and can shell out Rs. 3-4 K more then go for it, things would not get better than this in the segment.

HH SPLENDOR: The bike is dated but you know she is still a legend in Indian bike market. But then nothing special as compared to the present competition.

Category 3:- Performance with looks & utility

Also called 125CC segment, the most happening segment, all competition

& war of the bike-makers are concentrated in this segment

YAMAHA GLADIATOR: Global & contemporary looks, best in class build quality, balance & handling, gear box & can beat even a 150 CC bike in many areas. Only thing is a bit pricey by 3-4 K.

HH SUPER SPLENDOR: This bike is super reliable, can beat any 100 cc bike in terms of fuel-efficiency, very good engine. But not very good in looks & style .

BAJAJ DISCOVER: All the R&D efforts of Bajaj are on show in this bike, very good looking, and superb  styling and a good handler. But engine is not very refined.

HONDA SHINE: Nothing extraordinary about this bike but nothing poor also, It is for those who believe in Honda flag.

*Category 4:- Performance, style, power & efficient at the same time.

*This category is for 150 CC bikes.

HONDA UNICORN: Superb reliability & fuel efficiency, pickup, speed & handling with mono-shock & strong frame are those of highest level - far far above than the competition. Best in segment.

PULSAR DTSI: It is for style & looks, pickup, speed, fuel-efficiency & attractive pricing. Gear box a big sluggish, engine is not a refined as Unicorn.

HH CBZ XTREME: Good looking, excellent performance in terms of pick-up, speed & handling. But nothing special to offer compared to competition, also a bit pricey.

HH KARIZMA: This bike has higher capacity than other bikes(225 CC); it is a true sport bike in today’s Indian market. Not worried about fuel-efficiency & pricing then go for it, best performance oriented Indian bike.

*5th category: - Different from crowd.

*RE BULLET 350: What can one say about the Bullet? It has its own aura & charm, you buy it because it is a Bullet. No competition please.

KINETIC BLAZE: The only entry for this manufacturer in this 20 bikes list. It is a true motoscooter; it can give a run for the money for any of the listed bike here. Looks super stylish, handles very well & pulls out great pick up & performance. Cons- over-priced & engine is not refined.
