The Best Albums That I have Come Across

The best albums are the ones that changed my view of music, altered my style and made me sit up and have a revelation.  Some albums may not be good for everyone, but for me they define who I am musically and personally.

  1. Janet Jackson/Janet!

Her album that really hit home with me as a woman.

  1. Mariah Carey/Self Titled

Her voice is something I revered in awe for many years and this debut shows it off wonderfully

  1. Mary J. Blige/What’s The 411

She redefined my vision of soul music.  I actually didn’t hear it till about six years after its release.

  1. Aerosmith/Permanent Vacation

One of my all time favorite rock bands and my favorite album by them

  1. Lisa Loeb/Tails

I love her songs and how quirky yet applicable they are

  1. Tori Amos/Little Earthquakes

When my soul was dark and confused, this album was music I could ponder my existance to.

  1. Sarah Mclachlan/Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

Potent and very soul rendering

  1. Stevie Wonder/At The Close Of The Century

I went many years without knowing the true talent of this man.  He is fantastic.

  1. Serendipity Soundtrack

I love the reminescent feel of this album.  The way it makes me feel about love and my life is one that I feel is important.

  1. Debbie Gibson/ Out of The Blue

Wierd choice I know, but I listened to it and went through a couple of years of relating to her.  I have to put it in my best.

  1. Abba Gold- This is a sentimental choice because when I was really young I listened to Abba with my mom all the time.

  2. Rhythm Nation 1814/Janet Jackson

I have very strong views on racism and world issues and this album helped me form my ideals and values concerning this issues.

  1. Dirty Dancing Soundtrack

This movie was so big when I was a kid and the music just makes me happy thinking about that time in my life.

  1. Poison’s Greatest Hits- All the songs on this album bring back so many memories.

  2. Garth Brooks/In Pieces

This album was very popular with me around the time I went off to college and I enjoyed this one more than any other country album.

  1. Mariah Carey/Emotions

Her follow-up to her debut is fantastic as well.

  1. Alicia Keys-Songs In A Minor

This album is definitely one of the best this year

  1. Aerosmith/Pump

This album is one that brings back A LOT of memories for me

  1. En Vogue/Funky Divas

Their harmony is fantastic and they had some great songs on that album.

  1. Prince/Purple Rain

This album is such a classic and shows off Prince’s talent.
