Careless Whispers !

Thank you for the music, the songs I’m singing. Thanks for all the joy they’re bringing.

Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty,

What would life be? Without a song or a dance what are we? So I say thank you for the music, For giving it to me.*

Music is like a universal language through which we can express our thoughts/love/happiness. On a gloomy day or when in bad mood, music lifts up our spirit & spreads instant happiness around. For a non-stop hummer like me life without music is unthinkable! Life without music just would not be the same & I’m truly thankful for music. I know a friend who shed a tear n two when he heard Shakira’s Whenever Wherever! Now one would wonder why? Music means different things to different people, some of us just listen cherish but many look for hidden meanings which then turns a simple song to a meaningful one, something that is etched on our minds forever. This is my list of all time favourite songs & since there ain’t a category for 20 best singers/band, this is also a list of my top songs by my favourite singers/band: [many a songs on my list are by Bryan Adams, am partial to him, kindly bear;)]

=================================

Winner Takes It All

I’ve played all my cards, And that’s what you’ve done too, Nothing more to say, No more ace to play.

I love all the songs of my favourite band ABBA [Thank god for giving us ABBA]. This song where someone is wondering long after she has lost someone dear. makes me cry.sob sob!

Everything I do, I do it for you

Look into my eyes - you will see, What you mean to me, Search your heart - search your soul and when you find me there you’ll search no more.

Can anyone not like this song when Bryan Adams sings in his silken husky voice professing his undying love! This song was featured in the film’Robin Hood the prince of thieves’ which was a much talked about movie but as far as I am concerned the movie became famous due to the song.’Everything I do’ has got to be one of the great love songs of all time.

Summer of 69

Even though I wasn’t around to experience the summer of the year 69, I simply love this song, it immediately takes me back to good ol’dayz. sigh! Once again we have Bryan Adams singing this forever hummable song about the best days of his life & it sure does makes us want to go back to our very own wonderful memories.

Please forgive me

I can’t stop lovin’ you. Don’t deny me, this pain I’m goin’ through, Please believe me every word I say is true.

Another Bryan Adams classic where he asks for forgiveness for being so much in love! And yeah, I love the video which has a damn cute dog sitting/dozing besides Bryan, all the time he is singing.

Always & In These Arms

I was never keen to hear Jon Bon Jovi coz he looked kinda weird to me but when my sister insisted that I should at least hear this song, I relented & ended up listening to rest of his songs too. Always is a beautiful song with touching lyrics & of course lovely guitar which is so familiar in Jovi songs. What appeals most about this song is the slow & then racy pitch which blends superbly with the https://lyrics. Must say that the words wouldn’t sound half as good if they weren’t in Jovi’s fabulous voice! Same goes for the other song: In these arms.  I cannot decide which lyric to mention here coz both songs  have superb https://lyrics.

My heart will go on

Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetime and never let go till we’re gone.

Celine Dion’s magically soothing voice can turn simple words to a mesmerizing song! This song from the film’Titanic’ went on to win awards & also a place on my top song list

Tears in Heaven

Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven? Would you feel the same if I saw you in heaven?

We all know this song was written by Eric Clapton in memory of his little son but we don’t need to lose a loved on to sense the pain in the words & Clapton’s voice.

I will always love you

So goodbye, please don’t cry, we both know I’m not what you need.

When Whitney Houston sings the often repeated line’I will always love you’ it sounds like something one has never heard before.

Goodbye

I would rather hurt myself than to ever make you cry, there nothing left to try though its gonna hurt us both, theres no other way than to say Goodbye.

Air Supply has been on the music scene forever now & this classic by them is a immensely hummable beautiful song.

Crying

I love you even more than I did before but darling what can I do? For you don’t love me & I’ll always be Crying.

This duet by K.D. Lang & Roy Orbison is the saddest song I ever heard! Orbison’s voice is so cool yet conveys the pain of a lost love & Lang complements him so well when she cries out’you don’t love me.’ This song is true tearjerker!

If tomorrow never comes

Will she know how much I love her.If I never wake in the morning, would she ever doubt the way I feel.

This is Ronan Keating’s version of a country song by Garth Brooks - which I never heard & now don’t need to hear too - coz Ronan’s song is a hear-this-heard all kinda song! Ronan has a soothing voice, this song where he wonders what would happen to his love if he were to die, is heartbreaking. I love the song but alwayz skip the video, snif snif! So tell that someone that you love just what you’re thinking of. its never too early.

I would do anything for love

I’d do anything for love, I’d run right into hell and back.

Everyone in love says lovely things about getting chaand-sitaare etc but no one has managed to say it as convincingly as Meatloaf does in this rather long love-song, my all time favourite!

Hello

Tell me how to win your heart, for I haven’t got a clue, but let me start by saying I love you.

A very simple n sweet song where Lionel Ritchie wonders whether the girl he loves feels the same for him. The video is beautiful too.

Right here waiting

Wherever you go, whatever you do, I will be right here waiting for you, Whatever it takes Or how my heart breaks.

Richard Marx sings this emotional sumtimes sad song, expressing his feelings for his lover.

You’re still the one

I dont like country music but if  Shania Twain’s singing then all rules can be broken! Still The One is lovely racy love song with some cool music enhanced by Shania’s sweet voice.

Sometimes Love just ain’t enough

But there’s a danger in loving somebody too much and its sad when you know it’s your heart you can’t trust.

Don Henley & Patty Smyth team together to tell this lovely tale of a couple who cant live with or without each other.

contd in comments. sorry;)
