My best all time favorite songs in Tamil are given. i’m mentioning top five.
1- "Poonkatrile Un swasathai" from Uyire, composed by AR Rahman and sang by Unni Menon. I like this very much because this song only gave me a special liking toawrds music. the song is heart touching
2- "Arumbum thalire" a fantastic performance from Ilayarja, sung by Arunmozhi, and Swarnalatha. its from the movie chandralekha acted bty vijay and vanitha.
3- "oru naalaikul ethani kanavu" from Yaaradi nee mohini movie sung by Karthik and Reeta. composed by yuvan shankar raja. don know why. When I hear that song, I used to feel like. I can’t express the feelings in words.
4- "nan thedum sevvanthi poovithu" composed and sung by ilayaraja and s.Janaki. Movie name is Dharma pathini. its a bit old movie, lead pair are karthick and poornima. the humming in the starting of the song by ilayarja is unbeatable.
5- "anbendra mazhayile" song from Minsara kanavu sung by anuradha sriram composed by AR Rahman. a fantastic, peace giving, soul touching song.

4- "vidukathaya intha valkai" from Muthu. what a voice by hariharan and what a lyrics
5-"Rakozhi rendu mulichiruku" from Uzhavan. fabulous voice by Swarnalatha and KJ Yesudas.

1- Khwaja mere Khwaja from Jodha Akbar. Fanstastic voice by AR Rahman
2- Mere hath mein from Fana. don know who sang the song. but its really nice.
3- Ishq Bina from Taal. superb voice from Anuradha Sriram. and also of Rahman
4- Khalbali song from Rang de Basanthi. in fact I like all songs from rang de basanthi
5- "Aaja me" from Yuvaraj. nice one.
Favourite from Ilayaraja:
1- "Karbagraham vitu" from virumandi. what a music
2- "Potri padadi penna" from Dhevar Magan. voice and beats are entirely different
3- "Katril varum geethame" from oru nal oru kanavu sung by Reeta. movie is a bad flop. but song is nice.
4- "Ram Ram" from movie.Hey Ram. what a voice from Kamal and vasunthara dhas
5-chinna thayaval from dhalapathi. a best performance from ilayaraj. soul touching. best from manirathnam and also rajini.

1- "ennuyir neethane" from priya sung by KJ Yesudas. performed by Rajini and sreedevi
2- "Ragangal Pathinaru" from Thillu mullu. fantastic song
3- "En vaanile ore vennila" from Johny, an old rajini movie
4- "santhana katre" from "thanikaatu raja" its also rajini’s movie
5- "Kanne kalaimane" from moondram pirai, a kamal hasan movie.
