I went through all the six reviews written under this heading and I thought that there are several notable songs which are not listed;so here is a list of few such songs
LAYLA by Eric Clapton
From one of the best albums of all time Unplugged this one was sung by Clapton for George Harrisons wife(dont remember her name)with whom he had fallen in love. This song has been sung in two versions, a softer one which featured in 1986s UNPLUGGED and a pure hard rock one which was recorded during Claptons Creame days.
LIGHT MY FIRE by The Doors
I believe that Jim Morrison is at his best in this one.True and Pure rock.
SATISFACTION by Rolling Stones
How can one miss this song.Voted the best rock song ever by almost all the surveys, you cant even dare to miss this one out.
NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN by The Moody Blues
Inspirations of many Classical-Rock and psychedelic Rock bands, The Moody Blues considered are to be the best Classical-Rock band ever; and if you dont believe me listen to this one.Infact the whole albumDays Of Future Passed is an experience in itself.
SMOOTH by Santana
Supernatural won eight grammies and this song is not just any other rock song its a Supernatural song perhaps the best latin-rock song, the only other song which perhaps challenges it is JINGO another class act by god of latin rock Carlos Santana.
CATS IN THE CRADLE by Ugly Kid Joe/Cat Stevens
Both the versions are terrific.I think that this is best song sung by Cat Stevens though many may say Wild World.Ugly Kid Joes cover of this song is in my opinion the best cover version ever sung.
JUMP by Van Halen
If there was a band which carried the Led Zep legacy further then it was The Van Halen.Their distinct style made them the rock idols and Jump is not only Van Halens but also one of the best rock songs ever.
SHOT IN THE DARK by Ozzy Osbourne
Unlike the puppy pop love songs which normally rule the charts, the rock songs slowly grow on you and then rule the hearts. But this one was an exception a no. 1 chartbuster this has the wizard at his very best.
STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN by Led Zeppelin
Led Zep defined what came to be known as Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. From the album Led Zeppelin IV which featured other classics likeRock & Roll andWhen The Levee Breaks, STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN stands out as their greatest song.
ANGELIA by Richard Marx
Bit odd entry in this list of biggies, yet this one is for sure a great power rock ballad and ofcourse it has the velvet voice of one and only Richard Marx.
HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN by Animal
Though Animal are not considered as legends, this one song is surely is. Marvellous lyrics and great music.
I WANT TO BREAK FREE by Queen
A Rock Anthem for every young rebellious heart.Freddie Mercury is at his peak in this one.
SULTANS OF SWING by Dire Straits
Dire Straits survived the rock scene in late 70s because of the simple fact that they were different.Mark Knopflers Guitars signature sound is simply irresistable in this one.
Well friends these are a few classics which I thought were missing and so I listed them down as a kind of tribute to the great Artists who have given us such beautiful songs to cheer.
