?Accha main ab samjha ki main ghussa to paththar girne ki awaaz kahaan se aa rahi thi? went ma uncle when he jus barged in at the wrong time? I was in my own world with a cigarette in my hand and Metallica for company?(Oh! Hell forget it? what happened after that did not concern with my choice of music?.:()
All that I could understand is why do people start hating rock after they cross 35?(someone out there solve my problem please?.!)? All I could sum up is either I am crazy or they are?(to ground me for smoking I mean?.;)? Though pretty new to this front I have listened to quite a few numbers n by now am an ardent rock fan? Here?s my list of songs that qualify to be heard any point of time?(Hope ppl agree?)
Hallowed Be Thy Name: One of Maiden?s best compositions? It describes the thoughts and emotions of a condemned man on his way to the gallows. There is no way for me to describe this song other than absolutely inspired and brilliant. The long instrumental section that dominates the last half of the song is rivaled only by few, and the lyrical depth and emotion stands alone, unapproached by anything else that I have heard. And someone rightly said.If this cant make one a Maiden fan. Nothing can
Hotel California: The Quintessential classic? The mother of all rock songs? What more do I say? Felder and co. have a composition here that is still being remembered for its great guitaring and absolutely sane lyrics?
Heavy Fuel: For once does Dire Straits go hard? And this they do in quite a nice way? Superb song that really recognizes booze as the cool?heavy fuel?(quite right aren?t they??)
Mama Said: Metallica goes soft? really soft? Mothers are meant to be aren?t they? This song really captures the heart of all the teens with its lyrics? Let my heart go?! Some brilliant vocals and the usual metallica touches give this song a unique place in my all-time favorite list?
Civil War: Guns N Roses comes up with a beautiful song? For a band that really does well playin? only covers? This was a beautiful effort(to say the least)? And very right too? After all what?s so civil about war anyway?(Someone just go and tell Bush n co. to stop his nonsense)
Crutch: Matchbox Twenty is a group that is probably a very underrated group(according to me?) They deserve something(credit I mean) for some great compositions?.(Check out Mad Season if u don?t believe me?)
Winds of Change: A song that just captures the mood of calm? N while doing that it tells the listener about the most happening thing on the face of this earth? Change? Scorpions hit ace with their hand at softies?. Keep it up guys?
Alexander The Great: Another of Maidens historical epics, Alexander The Great is the best song on the album. It details the history of the military genius Alexander of Macedon, who conquered the Persian empire and may be the only general in history to have never lost a single battle. The song contains one unfortunate historical inaccuracy, suggesting that Alexanders army wouldnt follow him to India. In fact, they did enter India and went as far as the Indus river in what is now modern-day Pakistan. Some will argue that such inaccuracies are irrelevant, or forgivable due toartistic license. I disagree. If the entire purpose of a song is to inform of historical events, then these events should at least be as accurate as possible?.(what say?)
Rape Me: Cobain does it again?(he never got tired? did he) Some really frustrating lyrics that fit into any situation where you sit dreaming when someone jus runs in and out of your backside(no pun intended) and you kept staring at your fate? Too bad that Nirvana didn?t last? Kobain was someone who really did redefine music? Music for the frustrated? Some people attribute this to the fact that?that clumsy drug-addict was himself frustrated?? Oh yeah who in this world is not frustrated? But there was?. and will be only one Kurt Cobain.(period)
Losing My Religion: This song starts off as if it is some pop song? and later develops some amazing guitaring? A classic from R.E.M?
Fav lines:
?Every whisper
Of every waking hour Im
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool
Oh no Ive said too much
I set it up?
Return To Innocence: First ill tell you what? Go check out the video? Then listen to the song with full love? devotion? feeling and emotion?. Don?t be afraid?. An yeah switch your lights off? close your eyes? enjoy? dream?. Love?. Live? Alrite that does it?.(No words actually to describe this Enigma classic)
Another Brick in The Wall(Part 2): An anthem of rock in itself?(all in all it is just another brick in the wall)? How right? The teachers of today should all be sent through that human shredder(as shown in the video) and relieve the world of a very bad burden? Oh hell I better type this thing in fast? got a class tmow at 8?
Brave New World: Dickinson?s composition? A great job all in all? So beautifully composed that it made Dickinson ditch the band that made him famous?(Of course he is now back with Maiden?) u see Dickinson is as incomplete without Maiden as much as Maiden is without him?
Superb song with the usual great Maiden riffs and some great lyrics?
Promises: The Cranberries is a group that I ve recently started listening to? And this is a kind of song that does not grow on first listening?. A song that starts with a soft hum and suddenly breaks into a powerful rock song and I have started believing that Cranberries have come into my life as they had promised!
One Step Closer: The only song in Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park that qualifies as a rock song? Of course Linkin Park is all about hybrid music? But this song is so brilliant? And whats more it is set in the right mood too?
Enter Sandman: Metallica classic? NO INTRODUCTION REQUIRED? the best song of the Black Album and a typical hard metal Metallica song ridiculing the night prayer that we used to chant with mommy back when we were young?.!
Walk On: Deep Purple slip on some Banana peels(he he that?s the name of the album u fools?) to create a wonderful number? All about taking failures and things in the world that one dislikes?. With one universal solution? Walk On.>>>!
N.I.B.: Ozzy Osbourne is the lead vocalist and one of the composers too?. Great song? one of the earliest hard rock numbers? Really too hard for the time it was released?(Piece of Advice: Plz. listen to the lyrics)? this from the Last Supper by Black Sabbath/?
