ASHA BHOSLE.well the name spells magic for me!She has been my favourite singer as long as I can remember.She is not only an artist par excellance but a very versatile one too.She has sung such a variety of songs.be it a cabre, ghazal, qwawalli, sad number.and all with perfection.ASHA BHOSLE IS A LIVING LEGEND and they really don’t make like her any more.Its impossible to do justice to a singer of her talent\class by just picking twenty songs but still i’ll make an effort to list a few of my favourite songs of her.
~AB KE BARAS(BANDINI)~This SD BURMAN song was sung with so much feeling and emotions by ASHA bhosle.that it’ll bring a tear to your eyes, everytime you listen to it.a real gem.
~ABHI NA JAYO CHOD KE(HUM DONO)~You can never get to listen to a more romantic number than this, be it for the music, lyrics or the unbleivable sInging by ASHA BHOSLE-MOHD-RAFI, this one is a classic.
~AAYE MEHARBAAN(HOWRAH BRIGDE)~Nobody can sing a cabre number or a seductive song better than ASHA BHOSLE.and this song was a proof of it.ASHA BHOSLE mesmerises you with her voice.in this song and who can forget the stunning MADHUBALA, swaying away in this song?
~AAGE BHI JAANE NA TU(WAQT)~What a song.its my absolute favourite song of ASHA BHOSLE.Beautiful melody, great https://lyrics.this song had a very western feel to it.and ASHA’s voice was a revelation in it.
~DEEWANA MASATANA HUYA(BUMBAI KA BABU)~.i love this song, its so melodious with a very classical touch to it, ASHA BHOSLE and MOHD-RAFI always sung very well together and this is one of their most beautiful song.
~BACHPAN KE DIN(SUJATA)~.another of my favorite ASHA BHOSLE number, she has sung it so well.lyrics are also great too.Bachpan ke din bhi kya din the.wah-wah!
~KALI GHATA CHAYE(SUJATA)~.I love loris in hindi films, but unfortunately nobody makes them anymore.but this is my favourite from SUJATA.it is such a beautiful song and there is so much mithaas(sweetness) in ASHA’s voice in this number.that u’ll love it.
~NIGAHE MILANE KO JEE CHAHTA HAI(DIL HI TO HAI)~.I love qawallis too but unfortunately you do not get to listen to them as well, anymore.MY TWO FAVORITE QAWALLIS ARE Teri mehfil mein qismat and nigahe milano ko.both are sung by ASHA BHOSLE with elan.Love both these two songs.
~RAAT AKELI HAIN(JEWEL THEIF)~What a cute song.there is so much mischeif in ASHA BHOSLE’s voice when she sings this one.A real treat to listen too.
~CHAIN SE HUMKO KABHI(PRAN JAYE PAR VACHAN NA JAYE)~.This is ASHA BHOSLE’s best song ever, for me atleast.God! man how did she sing this song so beautifully, with so much feel.and pathos.I think she got a national award for this song.and rightly so.Just listen to this number and you’ll be stunned to listen to her voice in this one.
~YE HAIN RESHMI(MERE SANAM)~.this is vintage ASHA, a delightful composition by OP NAYYAR and nobody could have done justice to this song other than ASHA BHOSLE.
~DEEWANA HUA BADAL(KASHMIR KI KALI)~.another of those classic romantic number sung by ASHA BHOSLE-MOHD-RAFI, which you’ll enjoy as long as music is alive.
~AAJA AAJA MAIN HU PYAR TERA(TEESRI MANJIL)~.well what an era this was when ASHA-RAFI-BURMAN MAGIC ROCKED the nation with their songs!There s nothing to be said for this song.it is still loved, played and enjoy by people of all generation.
~DUM MARO DUM(HRHK)~Another classic from RD BURMAN-ASHA BHOSLE, what a song, what music and what singing.i love this song.
~JAANE JA(JAWANI DIWANI)~.you really have to listen to ASHA’s way\style of singing in this one, it is unbealeivable.she along with KISHOR KUMAR are a delight to listen in this beautiful song of JAWANI DIWANI.
~ROJ ROJ AANKHEIN TALE(JEEVA)~.this is my all time favourite song of RDB and ASHA BHOSLE.The music, lyrics and singing is just perfect.
~MERA KUCH SAMAAN TUMHARE PAAS PADA HAI(IZZAZAT)~.great song.ASHA BHOSLE’s voice is sheer magic in this number.
~GHAZALS OF UMRAO JAAN~.well people always beleived that ASHA BHOSLE could never sing ghazals and classical number with conviction.but her singing in UMRAO JAAN proved everyone wrong.She got a national award for her ghazals in this film, each song was a classic be it IN AANKHON KI MASTI, JUSTU JU, YE KYA JAGE HAIN DOSTON.and I think ASHA BHOSLE was a delight to listen in all of them.
~PIYA BAAWRI(KHOOBSOORA), TUMHE CHOD KE(BASERA), DIL SAAJAN JALTA HAI(MUKTI), JAHAN BIN HAWA KE(JHOOTA SACH), ISHQ MERA BANDAGI HAIN(YE WADA RAHA)~.are a few of the other songs of ASHA BHOSLE I loved, which she sang for RDB.
Amongst the new songs which ASHA BHOSLE sang.i liked RANGEELA RE, TANHA TANHA, KAMBAKHT ISHQ, RADHA KAISE NA JALE, MEHARBAAN.and a few others.These are a few of the songs of ASHA BHOSLE I love.i have a huge collection of her songs at home and she has sung so many brilliant songs that I just cannot do justics to her by picking a few songs of her.but still the above mentioned songs are my favourite of ASHA BHOSLE.ASHA BHOSLE RULEZS!
