Chala Jata Houn Kisi Ki Dhun Main

RD Burman has entertained us with his hunting melodies.  I have some very selected songs composed by RD.  Today’s listeners of Radio City/Radio Mirchi/Radio FM may not like these songs.   But I feel they are the best of RD.  Off course this is my personal choice.

Ghar Aaja Ghir Aaye Badara Sawariya  Lata   “Chhote Nawab”(1962)

This is the first song of RD as an independent music director.  Pure classical

based song is an immortal song.

Jago Sone Walo     Mannade- Mehamood   “Bhoot Bangala”(1964)

Sung on a very high pitch yet another typical western style song.

Tumane Muze Dekha   Rafi   “Teesari Manzeel”(1967)

You will find very few songs of RD-Rafi combinations.  This is one of them but the best.

Kajare Badarawa Re   Lata  “Pati Patni”(1967)

Yet another classical based song from RD.  Excellent use of Santoor

  • Kya Janu Sajan*  Lata  “Baharo Ke Sapane”(1968)

Echo as well as overlapping voice effect is excellent.

  • Bhai Battur Bhai Battur*   Lata  “Padosan”(1968)

RD-Lata combination at its peak,  Santoor is excellently used.  Real hunting melodious song.

Ni Sultana Re Pyar Ka Mausam   Lata-Rafi    “Pyar Ka Mousam”  (1969)

Excellently composed duet song. One of the best of Lata-Rafi.

Kabhi Kabhi Aisa Bhi T  Lata-Rafi  “Waris”  (1970)

Yet another melodious song of RD.

Waadiya Mera Daman   Lata/Rafi  “Abhilasha”(1970)

You will feel that you are on a hill station.  Superb song. This is one of

my all time favorite.

Pyar Deewana Hota Hai  Kishor  “Kati Patang”(1971)

Piano is superbly used in this song.

Muzase Bhala Ye Aanchal Tera  Lata-Rafi   “The Train”(1971)

Sweet duet.

  • Kuchh To Log Kahenge *  Kishor  “Amar Prem”(1972)

There are so many good songs in this film but this is the best, according to me.

  • Samane Ye Kaun Aaya *  Kishor “Jawani Deewani”(1972)

Fast track song. I used to sing this song on stages and won some awards too.

  • Dekha Na Hi Re Socha Na *  Kishor  “Bombay To Goa”  (1972)

Yet another fast track song.

  • Chala Jata Houn Kisiki Dhun Main * Kishor “Mere Jeeven Sathi”(1972)

RD was at its best when this film was released.

Kehadoo Tumhe Ya Choop * Kishor-Asha  “Deewar”  (1973)

Evergreen songs of RD, Even I like the remakes of this songs.

Is Mod Pe Aate Hai *  Kishor-Lata “Aandhi”(1974)

I feel RD has used Tabla excellently in this song.

Aaj Kal Paon Zameen Par * Lata “Ghar”(1977)

Very melodious song one of my all time favorite.

  • Tuzse Naraz Nahin Zindagi * Anup Ghoshal  “Msasoom”(1983)

This song is also sung by Lata but I like this version.

  • Ek Ladaki Ko Dekha To * Kumar Shanu  “1942 A Love Story”(1994)

I restarted my singing hobby after the gap of 22 years.  I had sung this song and got some appreciation.  Lovely song.
