Sonu Nigam and his songs...

Someone wanted to know about Sonu Nigam, and here I share my information about this talented singer with you.

About him in brief

-Born on 30th July in Faridabad

-Began his training under his father and singer Agam Kumar Nigam.

-Gave his debut public performance and sang the Mohammed Rafi song Kya Hua Tera Vaada from Hum Kisise Kum Nahin.

-Sonu has acted as a child artiste in films such as Kaamchor, Ustadi Ustad Se, Hum Se Hai Zamana, Taqdeer and Betaab.

-recorded his first song for the film Aaja Meri Jaan courtesy Usha Khanna who introduced him to composer Amar Utpal. Later, the song got dubbed by SP Balasubramaniam.the song that really made Sonu Nigam famous was?Accha Sila Diya Tune Mere Pyar Ka? for the film Bewafa Sanam.

-’Sapnon ki baat’, ’Deewana’ were his first Indipop albums with T-series. Later, he established his company called Kismat and released an album, Mausam.

-a successful anchor for Zee TV of a show called’SAREGAMA’.

-Has acted in two films, Jaani Dushman and Kaash Aap Hamare hote both of them couldn’t do well at the box-office.

A melodious and haunting voice are his assets, and his soft-spoken nature only add to the great fan following he has.

Some of my favourite Sonu Nigam songs.

FAVOURITE PATRIOTIC SONGS:

  1. Sandese Aate hain (Border) Music: Anu Malik

This song actually became famous for its length(which something more than 10minutes, I think) but Sonu Nigam and other singers rendered this song beautifully. The audio impact of this song actually makes you visualize a soldier in a war cantonment longing for his family and beloved. He won the Zee Cine award 1997 for this song.

  1. Mera Rang De Basanti Chola (The Legend of Bhagat Singh) Music: A. R. Rahman

The patriotic person that I am, this second patriotic song by Sonu Nigam. This song has a touch of Indian classical music and Sonu Nigam, undoubtedly, does a super job.

  1. Panchhi Nadiyan (Refugee) Music: Anu Malik

Beautiful lyrics and Sonu?s voice, a perfect combination for a classic like this one.

  1. Sarfaroshi ki tamanna (The Legend of Bhagat Singh) Music: A. R. Rahman

Needless to say, this film has some very beautiful Sonu Nigam numbers, and this song tops the list. The song was penned by Ram Prasad Bismil and it is certainly his BEST. I simply love?Khushboo banke mehkaa karenge hum lehlahaati har faslon me, saans banke hum gungunaayenge aanewali har naslon me?(Sorry! I am bad at translating things!)

FAVOURITE ROMANTIC SONGS:

  1. Kismat se tum(Pukar) Music: A. R. Rahman

This song didn’t get too famous but it is certainly a soulful and a very romantic number. The way he goes’Kismat se tum humko mile ho, kaise chhodenge’ touches your heart.

  1. Khamoshiyaan Gungunaane lagi (One two ka Four) Music: A R Rahman

This soft number is again one of Sonu?s best.

  1. Suraj Hua Maddham(Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham) Music: Sandesh Shandilya

Powerful voice?

AND ALSO?

Yeh Dil(Pardes) Music: -(Unsure if it is Anu Malik)

This fast-paced song picturized on Shahrukh Khan is certainly one of the best songs by Sonu Nigam. He adopted a different style of singing which was not at all close to the singers of the period.

Not to forget his Kal ho naa ho from Kal ho naa ho, Tanhayee(Is that the way it is spelled?) from Dil chahta hai in recent times.

Way to go, Sonu!
