NOTE: This is not a list ofworst English songs but a continuation of my favourite ones.
I had made a list when I first came to the site. Here is a newer list of my favourite songs. It is NOT as some might think my 20th to 40th favourite songs. Its my top 20 favourite songs as of today, 9th June 2003(well, not exactly 20). Anyway, all these songs have been my favourite sometime or the other.
*20. TIE
Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On me
R.E.M. - Losing My Religion*
Former: *I used to be a big Def Leppard fan earlier and this song used to be my favourite. The chorus is good and the intro is quite nice.
Latter: Likewise, I also used to be a big R.E.M. fan when I was 12. Losing My Religion is an amazing song with a great video. It has a great beginning and continues that way till the end.

Nickelback - Hero
Rolling Stones - Wild Horses(acoustic)*
Former: *This song, the OST of Spiderman, is a pretty likeable one. I am not a big Nickelback fan, but I really like this one.
Latter: The beginning is simply good, nothing spectacular. But it gets on and by the time the song is about to finish you realize that it was a great song. The chorus is the best part, in my opinion.
*18. TIE
Googoo Dolls - Iris
Nightwish - Crownless*
Former: This had been my favourite song for a short while. There are some songs which are hard to describe. This is one of them.
Latter: *Speed, melody and power. and in that order. The intro has to be heard to be believed. Nightwish are a decent band and although Ive never been a huge fan, there are 2-3 Nightwish songs which I love.
*17. TIE
Anathema - Alternative 4
Guns n Roses - November Rain*
Former: Doom metal at its best. A nice intro. I like the drums. The entire album has many good songs. Some maybe a shade better but I prefer Alt 4.
Latter: One of the best love ballads. Slash is at his very best. I love the guitar solos. One of the unique features about this song is the way the mood changes towards the end.
*16. TIE
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Nightwish - Phantom of The Opera*
Former: I love the intro.
Latter: If the book didnt haunt you, this song surely will. This song also took the number one spot in my favourite songs list for a month or two.
*15. TIE
Iron Maiden - Man on The Edge
Iron Maiden - Run to The Hills*
Former: Iron Maiden is by far the greatest metal band ever. You can rest assured that my present list will be dominated by Maiden. Like most fans, I preferred the Dickinson era than the rest.
Latter: Great guitars as in all maiden songs. After hearing all the Maiden songs I have listed here(and especially these two and Trooper) youll come to realize the magnitude of plagiarism in India.
*14. TIE
Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
Nightiwsh - She is My Sin*
Former: Dire Straits have also been my favourite band in the past and Sultans of Swing has been my favourite song by them. Mark Knopflers genius is very obvious. The song is filled with great guitar riffs and one final breathtaking solo.
Latter: Nightwish are a perfect blend of heavy metal and melodic metal, in my opinion(others may disagree).

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
Led Zeppelin - Kashmir*
Former: First Pink Floyd song I heard which I liked. From the albumThe Wall it follows the story of a person who creates a mental barrier. I like the solos. This is a very soft song and one of my early favourites.
Latter: Quite different from the usual Led Zeppelin songs, but one of their best.
*12. TIE
Eagles - Hotel California(live)
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody*
Former: Another very famous song. The live version has a amazing guitar intro and a decent ending. The music throughout is amazing.
Latter: An even more famous song, I guess. Seriously, if you havent heard this song, you are missing something. Im not saying that everyone will love it but its too unique to not listen. It begins good enough. But the part fromMama, just killed a man. till the guitar solo is my favourite part.
*11. TIE
Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song
Pink Floyd - Another Brick in The Wall*
Former: Another great Led Zeppelin song. Plant shows why he has to go down as one of the greatest legends of rock music.
Latter: I dont suppose theres anyone who hasnt heard this song. If you havent then go buy the CD(or download it, as you are more likely to do).
*10. TIE
Blind Guardian - Mirror Mirror
Metallica - Enter Sandman*
Former: Amazing guitar work here. This heavy song probably describes Blind Guardian best. The lyrics are based on The Silmarillion. For someone who likes heavy stuff, this is the BG song I would recommend you to hear first. Hansi is amazing as usual. Marcus and Andre compliment each other very well. Thomen drums away furiously.
Latter: The Old Metallica at their heavy best.
*9. TIE
Dream Theater - Metropolis part 1
Iron Maiden - Trooper*
Former: -
Latter: *A superb guitar intro, this is another favourite among Maiden fans.
*8. TIE
Blind Guardian - The Bards Song(in the forest)
Blind Guardian - A Past And Future Secret*
Former: Although I havent been to any Live BG shows, I understand that no other song(by any band) has a live feeling as this one. Almost from the very beginning it has served as an anthem for BG fans and has been performed religiously whenever BG have performed live although, most of the singing is left to the fans. This soft ballad begins with one of the best melodies I have heard. Hansi shows his brilliance many times in between.
Latter: The studio version of this ballad is a bit better than The Bards Song. The intro riff is very catchy. The theme is about King Arthur(The Once And Future King). Very slow and soothing, my favourite part in the vocals is I feel cold when I cry out for the bark. Take him back to Avalon!. I will wait and guard the future kings crown.
