’’U Me aur Hum’’ marks the directorial debut of Ajay Devgan. Last year Aamir Khan directed’’ Taare Zameen par’’ depicting the emotional turbulence of a dyslexic child which is refered as the best film of 2007 till date, here Ajay Devgan chooses a love story with a daringly different subject.
There is love in first sight where Dr Ajay (Ajay Devgan) feels after seeing Piya (Kajol) in a cruise. He try his level best to impress her by learning salsa, being lovable etc etc which we have had seen in many bollywood films.
They reunite and marry happily after an unfortunate misunderstanding but the problem starts when Piya is diagnosed with *Alzeihmer’s disease *where a patient tends to forget everything as well as she gets pregnant at such critical situation. Ajay Devgan chooses an interesting concept which any directors didn’t dare to use.
The first half *is *very filmy which I felt was very boring. But Ajay deserves brownie points for the second half which is quite engaging and shocking as well just like the scene where Kajol unknowingly leaves her infant baby drowning in the bath tub which was hard to digest..
Thehighlight *of TAARE ZAMEEN PAR was the *rock solid script which enlightened us completely but U ME AUR HUM, it is the characters which is the core of the film IN OTHER WORDS, U ME AUR HUM is acharacter driven film. Music by VishalBharadwaj *is also the best points like ’’Jee le’’ , ’’Saiyaan’’ & ’’u me aur hum’’. As a director Ajay Devgan may not be great as Aamir Khan*but since he is directed for the first time with good concept and well executed scenes. Ajay Devgan has a scope to be good director in future.
AJAY DEVGAN is exceptional. He carries an image of taking a serious roles often, but his performance in the film proved wrong. If he can do action roles with great calibre than he is can also play a lover boy with honesty. KAJOL is regarded as the finest actress of our Bollywood till date, no other actress barring MADHURI DIXIT & TABU have ever came near her position. This times she keeps her promise by doing so, She is Brilliant as an alzeihmer patient* especially in the second half where she forgets everything and creates havoc. In first Half she looks very beautiful in the western wardrobe.
ALL OVER She deserves an Best actress award for the portrayal ofsuchcomplex character . SUMEET RAGAVAN is a talent to watch out! A fine actor. Abundantly talented DIVYA DUTTA doesn’t work this time since her character is very loosely written. KARAN KHANNA gives a new meaning to non-actor, *he hams like anything and his dialouge like he insist Ajay to keep his new infant name as F--KER as per the new generation will cringe you to your seat, He is consistantlybad*.
ISHA SHARVANI is just oky, but she deserves bigger role because she has a talent of acting which is being exploited by some films she did before except U ME AUR HUM, here she gets to deliver histronic thankfully. U ME AUR HUM is not a bad film but it is not even good as it was expected from, still I recommend you to watch for some well executed moments & protagonist performance especially from Lovely Kajol.
