Uber is cheating customers by supporting their drivers.
I booked a ride, and the driver followed the exact same route as shown on the Uber app. However, the fare charged on the drivers app was significantly higher. When I pointed this out to the driver, he refused to listen. These unprofessional drivers don’t understand reason, and when I tried to make an online payment, he insisted on cashand demanded an extra amount. I had no choice but to pay, as arguing on the roadside was not safe or practical.
I immediately raised a complaint with Uber, and to my shock, they responded by saying:
"Uber provides a suggested fare, but drivers are free to negotiate a different fare. Since the payment was made directly to the driver in cash, and Uber doesnt take any commission on such trips, were unable to adjust the fare."
How ridiculous! Companies like Uber survive on customers’ money, yet they support such behavior just because they dont earn a commission on the ride. If Uber has no control over fare negotiation or resolution in cash trips, then why do they allow such rides under their platform? These drivers and companies earn their livelihood through customers, but when customers face issues, no support is offered.
Beware of such drivers and companies that fail to protect customer interests.
