Not a safe mode of transportation

In my city, Chandigarh there are hundreds of cases taking place where uber drivers take the passenger to an unwanted locations and threat them and take away their valuable items like jewellery, mobile phone, cash and other stuff. Women safety is not at all taken care of by Uber. There are several cases when drivers take the route where traffic is least and then molest the women passenger. I haven’t heard about any hard step taken by Uber against this issue. Many a times the drivers charge more amount from the old people as they forget or doesn’t know that they have to check the drivers mobile to know the exact amount, this has happened with my grandmother. The bill was rs. 66 and the driver said rs. 90. Uber doesn’t have any strict rules against drivers and anyone can be a driver, if he has a permit vehicle. No police verification or criminal records are being checked before deploying them. There are murder cases registered in many other cities where rich foreigners are killed and the drivers take away the money. The cars are not clean and sometimes the drivers refuses to switch on the AC of the car which is like a punishment in summers and on giving less stars to the driver, uber doesn’t take any step against the drivers. At least in India, Uber is not safe for anyone, whether it be men or women. I want Uber to make strict laws for drivers and special app or feature for women so that the certified drivers are sent for women passengers, otherwise the rate of crime is going to increase. Uber is not operating well in India.
