I have been using Uber for few weeks now and have realized that Uber is not the best bet if you need to be at a place at a specific time, especially if the destination is far away. The peculiarity of driver incentive system at Uber(More incentive on the no. of trips made irrespective of distance or fare earned) makes the drives strive for short trips to maximize their incentive in shortest possible time.
This has led to dubious means adopted by drivers to get rid of their passengers once they realize that the destination is far.
The excuses created by them would have been comical if I was not at the receiving end of their tricks. Complaint to Uber has gone unanswered.
This situation reminds me of the saying"Andher Nagri, Chopat Raja ." The Venture capitalist funded organizations are creating an unrealistic market situation with drivers as well as passengers trying to make hay while the sun shines(or funds last).
