I’ve been using Uber since the time they launched their services in Kolkata. Initially everything was fine and I was relieved to have an alternative to the Yellow Cabs, which were/ are notorious for over charging, not going by the meter, etc
However, the relief didn’t last long. Soon Uber, which is supposed to be run by cab owners, was taken over by ex Yellow Cab drivers, who are ill mannered and cancel rides like anything.
Now amidst this sweltering summer, Uber has adopted a NO AC policy citing inadequate compensation from Uber and rising Petrol prices. The increase in Petrol prices AND AC charge is already factored in the fare but still, the drivers are adamant and refuse to turn on the AC, UNLESS we pay them 100 rs extra.
Uber as a company is doing absolutely nothing to address this menace and the most they would to redress your complaint by refunding 10% of your fare as AC charges.
Uber has gone rogue and needs to be eliminated from the streets altogether.
