Uber Cabs Customer Care needs improvement

I had booked an Uber cab on 5th Nov 2014 around 9 am for going to my office from residence, like I have been doing for past couple of weeks. While booking I saw update on the App that cab will reach in 15 minutes and the driver’s name was also given.


The same driver had dropped me to office on 3rd Nov also so I was sure that he would find the pick up location(my residence) as last time. But to my surprise I didn’t receive any call and when I checked the App it showed that I am on my trip. I understood that there is something wrong and I cancelled my trip, but I was charged 351 Rs on my Credit card for this cancelled trip which I never took. Also in my trip details on the Uber website the pick up location for that trip is showing as Mahadevpura and not my residence(Jeevan Bhima Nagar) which is utter non-sense. It seems driver had picked some one else from Mahadevpura and I have been charged for that trip.


But the worst part is that I have written 3 mails on this subject on the support link provided at Uber website but there is not even a single acknowledgement leave aside any apologies. Its shameful that a so called "global travel service" like Uber doesn’t have a Call center where I can call and register my grievance. Even when a grievance mail is sent on the support link there is not even a token or Ticket number generated with which to track the complaint. Typical example of pathetic customer care.


Update: The amount was finally refunded to my credit card, but not a single mail/call from Uber Cabs for acknowledgement or apology. I continue to use Uber cabs and generally the ride is on time and pleasant, few irritants being a few of their drivers don’t know how to use the app for beginning/ending the ride, one cab was in very poor condition hygienically and in one case the driver was talking on mobile loudly throughout the ride. But these are exceptions as I mentioned earlier and I have had worse experience with other Cabs in Bangalore. Increasing the rating to 3.
