Uber has made a good effort to ease the transportation in India. Though there are a few good things, let me help you see through their plans.
Monopolistic intentions:
By resorting to predatory pricing, they are increasing their valuation and bleeding competitors.
They will then raise the prices.
Promo codes:
The promotions are also to increase customer base.
They also do not honour all codes with silly answers like system flagging and thus cheating gullible customers who promote them.
They are culturally a solution to US and thus make such assumptions and judge us accordingly.
They lack the sensitivity for Indian culture and thus trying to mislead people by visible histrionics.
Uber is not realistically priced. It is not a long term player. A quick fly by night approach to increase valuation and slip away with booty leaving the poor vehicle owners and customers helpless. Be aware.
Buy a product or use a service only if it is realistically priced and fair. There are no free lunches.
We inadvertently harbour wrong firms with our short sighted selfishness and enthusiasm. Jago Grahak Jago.
