Uber has launched their so called UberMini service in Delhi today and sent me email yesterday regarding it. They also had a promo code "Ubermini14" which said new users can get Rs 500 Off on first ride.
My sister was to travel to airport today, so I thought it is good time for her to use the promotion from Uber. She wanted to go with Ola cabs or TaxiForSure, but I made her choose Uber Cab(I REGRET IT NOW). So she got new account, applied promo code while registration(remember I didn’t ask her to use my Referral code). She took Uber cab in morning around 9:30 AM & reached Airport around 10:00 AM.
I thought all was good. But 3 hours later(YES 3 HOURS LATER), she got email for her receipt and her card was charged for FULL amount(receipt was for Rs 479, she had Rs 500 off first trip promo activated). I contacted Uber over twitter. Sent them details and this is what they replied with,
Looks like our system has auto-banned your account for usage in violation of our terms of use. Our policy allows only one account per user. Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or concerns.

First of all, It is my sister’s first account & first trip(ready to pay 10x if they can prove otherwise). When asked for clarification, they had none.
I will advice everyone to stay away from Uber. They have your card details and can charge it anytime. Use with other providers
