Last year in November I booked an uber cab from HUDA City center metro station Gurgaon, Haryana around 11: 30 pm to my hotel room near by. My hotel room was just about 4 kilometers from the metro station and it was on a straight road but due to the criteria for navigation the driver followed the application and took me to the other side of the city in some nearby village. Despite there being minimal traffic it took around 1 hour to reach at my hotel room. I was totally disappointed by the service provided by such big company. Even the driver claimed that he has 15 years of driving experience then also this situation arised. I even informed the driver that my hotel room is on other side of the road but he was reluctant to listen to me and he just followed the navigation route.
The driver was very amateur as he did not even know the routes in the city where he was driving. I suggest all the customers who opt for this cab service on regular basis do take care if the driver is taking you on the right route or not as this strategy is followed most times to earn more fare.
The second problem with this service is the application is not developed properly as many times I face the situation when the application is not able to detect my location properly inspite of the fact that I use this application with my WiFi at home.
Another important issue is that when the driver is not able to detect your location or is not able to find you, if he cancels the ride then also the customer has to pay. Finding correct location is the responsibility of application and the driver who checked in for your taxi service.
The fare issue is also very irritating at times, as for the same distance each day multiple fares are being charged. There is no answer to such a question. The customer is sometimes stuck to pay variable fares due to some unavoidable daily routines.
These things are not at all acceptable from such a big corporation. Another incident which occurred was in Delhi when my family members opted for uber pool. This is even more worse, as there was a passenger in the pool taxi whose destination was after ours. Even his destination was far from ours we had to sit for the whole long journey and. Our journey for 15 minutes was covered in 45 minutes again disappointed with the poor service of the driver and company.
I suggest to the customers to be very vigilant while they travel using these cab services as the company and the driver play many tricks to earn more.
