Hi all, would like to share my review on recent bookings also would like you all aware of it.
First on last month 18th of october booked an uber due to sudden heavy rain in evening, as I work for night shift and I should be loggin by 08: 30pm pm but it almost late around 09: 14pn I could able to track uber vehicle on my route and booked it got drop from shantinagar to bommanahalli, bangalore.
Since due to rain while I checking normal and basic ride showing 10rs per klm and night charge as 4rs extra per kilometer. Then I thought its fine to book in this heavy rain I booked the cab, since its single ride I got car ritz to pick me up.Problem started from the pickup point, driver name rajanna called for to inform due to heavy rain there was a traffic and it will take some time, I said fine bacuse rainy season trafic usually happen. I booked cab at 09: 20pm till 10oclk I was heared same think multiple times stating trafic, signal blocked.
Then around 10: 06pm I received one more call stating I cannot come to pickup point as you given since traffic. Please come to lakkasandra ( place/point) to pick you up and its almost 2klm from the point shantinagar I listed. I thought again booking and waiting lets go, so I took a auto rikshaw and reached my point its around 50rs for auto rikshaw fair.
Finally I could reach before end to lakkasandra point but still after reaching around 10: 20pm I still uber cab driver could not pick me but positive thing is whenver I call he can answer my call and advise still in trafic and its non moving will be reaching within 10mins. To be frank UBER can pick me around 10: 55 pm almost I can say 11oclk. Then I asked driver why so late and I was shocked with the reason.
UBER cab drivers are to only follow route provided on the map if drvier take any shortcuts will lead to payment reduction for drivers and hence minimum half and hour to reach point is took around 01 hour 30 plus minuts to reach customer pickup point. Looking at one point its good to follow same route provided by company but I also looking farward to advise if any heavy traffic listed should have option to select some altranative routes for the UBER drivers else atleast should not pinalize them for taking other routes in such conditions.
So finally after heavy traffic after my pickup I could reach office at 11: 35 pm. But here comes one more shock the price point. To calculate from shantinagar to bommanahalli its 16klm which is 16 x 14rs equal to 224rs should be my payment. But UBER driver said 448rs I was wondered why double then he explained, I would like to share that as well its actual cost is 10rs per klm in normal days, 4rs extra for rain cost as already listed while booking. Additional 14rs is for night cost which includes night pickup and waiting charges I really disappointed.
Most important part is nothing night charges, and the waiting charges is included while booking UBER, I really want ask UBER you provided map to follow, and UBER cab was late to point due to your route, and it was late to pick me and I was late to office but still charging double the rate due to need of customer? Or are you forget customer are king?
May be I really wonder, UBER is giving touffest route to driver so that those who book in evening they get UBER cab in night so that UBER can charge night allowances, waiting charges, rain allowences etc. I really want to ask why this extra charges not listed to customers while they book.?
UBER users please very careful while booking especially evening timings, you may be waited and charged double or thrice the actual price.
