He mainly focused on english and chinese version as it is most commonly used by india china and indonesia. Then he( researcher) found that uc browser is transmitting data to UMING ANALYTIC TOOL in the PLAIN TEXT
In someone encryption is used but the encryption used could be easily crackes by any normal hacker with applying l’l efforts
In this information IMSI, IMEI, ANDROID ID and the most important MAP ADDRESS was directly sending in PLAIN TEXT to companies for advertisement. And by the ALIBABA MAPING TOOL, YOUR GEOLOCATION, LATTITUDE, LONGITUDE EVEN YOUR STREET NUMBER was sending in plain text to companies for advertisements
This was so much dangerous for our privacy any hacker coul hack that and can know about our privacy by cracking that traffic by putting l’l efforts this can increase the risks of cyber attacks on us
AFter knowing about it citizen lab ordered ali baba to update their software and to solve the problem
Then ali baba updated their software but problem wasn’t solved nothing solved all was as same as before
And now recently ( ad blocker: which blocks ads and automatic installation of apps in your phone) team of uc browser blocked ad blocker so that nobody can block ads. Due to this there is always a risk of coming virus and malware in your phone
Till now no reports come about uc browser about its safety that its safe now or not
I would recommend you all especially for those who are connected to mobile banking and those who do online transactionsion using uc browser uninstall it right now because you can meet with cyber attack
For normal users its not a big issue not to worry but be aware about it and I think you should not use it there are many other options instead of this one.
