The movie is fine, much better than your typical bollywood movie.
The acting is average. Alia bhatt surprises all with a decent performance. Shahid stares into space or shouts around.
Kareena is at her best( which isn’t much, since the character isn’t fleshed out, and she is too sweet and angelic.) The Punjabi police fellow is good.
The really authentic performances come from the non-star cast. Their accents are great, their outbursts seem genuine. You can believe that they are actually from Punjab.
Does Alia Bhatt really fit the role of a bihari labourer? She seems more comfortable walking on the beach.
The drug scene is depicted very well. unfortunately, the movie doesn’t give a sense of closure regarding the drug problem. Maybe it just can’t be solved, and that’s what the movie wants to say?
