Hi, Today I came back from a beautifull plave in Uganda which is also closed to Rwanda border.
I left Kampala by Saturday morning at 9.30 AM & reached at Kabale by 4.30 PM. During the 7 hours journey I could see only Greenery everywhere & few small cities or gaons. But at every stage u can see the Green Forest both the sides. Uganda has got the Gods goft in the form of Deep Forest. Even the Banana Culivation is taken every where I could see the Kachhi Bannanas with its red flower, which once upon atime in my childhood I uesd to eat its Bhaji.Its really good to see.
This place is called as SWITZERLAND of Uganda. From Kabale we took taxi & reached the BUYNONYI Lake which is just like our Kodaicanal way or Goa’s Lake. Once u enter there u get a feeling that u have entered in aplace whereonly heaven is there. This lake is the second largest in the African countreis & next to Victoria lake. It is made from Valcano in long back & it is surrounded by 8-10 small big hills. Once u enter here u feel this is the real nature. Every where the big trees are giving u pleasure & calm atmosphere. This valcano is still live in the form of its inner way. The lake is 6500 FT deep which is the 2nd deepest in Uganda.
We stayed in a TENT of 6 x 6 ft & 4 ft tall, as I & my friend Amod , we managed to stay here. The greenery is simply beautiful, u just forget every thing here. The lake is very calm & quiet, it has got 25 km long & 7 km widw. The name BUNYONYI means the place of many little birds. It was creatyed by a volcanic eruption which blocked a rivers exit. The lakes altitude is 1950 m & it is surrounded by hills that are 2200 to 2478 m hight. It is also surrounded by 29 islands & are concentrated in the central part. The data on the lakes depth varies from 44 m to 900 m in parts.
This lake is safe for smimming . There u can see more than 200 birds species found at here.Busara is the main island which is in between of the lake. We stayed in a tent which is very close to the water hardly 7-9 ft away from us. Due to Ester season many people have come from various parts of Africa aswellas from Canadaetc. Local people were also attended the enjoyment of this site.
Saturday we just went to see the local area as we reached here at 5.30 PM. Due to at hifh level here it raines heavily. But fortunately it rained till friday hence we could see the natures beauty. The hotes are situated here surrounding the lake view at different parts & locations but u feel that once in a life one has to come here to see the beautifull site created by the GOD. We took some snacks as during last 9 hoyrs we didnot take any thing except few biscuits. Then we took Egg Omlets & then went to our tent. In the night we took Beer with Chicken & Fish. The roti was too CHIVAT I just finished it & took fish curry with Rice, which was good. Till late night about 10.30 pm we were watchibg the night beauti as we could see it clearly.
Second day was Sunday , we got up by 6.30 AM & watched the mornings nature. I tell u I am unable to express my words for this, as it beyond my words dictonery. In simple terms u just failed in love this nature. I contacted u just to understand that I wanted u here with me to experience this. Then we went near by area to see from various angles & I took the photos of various locations as well as the birds. I loked a sparrow like bird which is Golden yellow in colour & were looking very very beautifull. I ran away to take the close ups of them but hardly once or twice I could catch them in my camerra. U will feel my feelings when u will see the photos in real way. Then we took photos of all the nature from various points , of the swimming pointetc.
In the evening we took a boat & went to Busara Island to see that part of the world from its angles. I was become mad after seeing the beauti of the nature. U will come to know when u will watch the photos. We spent 1.5 hours there & then came back. It was injustice to tell that practiccally I was not willing to leave this point at that stage.
In the evening we took rum with cola & were watching the dance floorwhere all the gents & ladies were dancing with the music. AS I was watching the dance with my glass of drinks, I was caught my one young lady’s eye as she was dancing with somebody. She told something to him & he requested me to come & dance with her. I smiled & refused at the moment as I was taking my drink. I finished my drink & was watchinh with Amod, she suddenly came ahead towards me & took my hand in hers & told me to dance with her. I told I can not dance as Inever danced earlier, but she was requesting me again & again & as otheres were watching that I started dancing with her. She was very happy, but I was feeling Shy & Ocward. But She was enjoying to dance with me after taking my hands withs hers. It lasted for 3-4 minutes. Then I thanked her came out.
After the dance was over she while going siad hi & thanked to me for my dancing with her & said bye bye to me. She was approximately 23 years of age but looking smart & fair compared to others. At the same time her copartner came to me he aslo shook hand with me & said she is her sister & she wanted me to dance with her at that moment for the sake of the enjoyment. I said thanks to him & they went. Here if u refuse to accept the request of any body like this it is treated as insult to that person.
Then we took chicken & fish with rice & went to walk again on that island. We could meet one family from Nasik who are working at Kampala only. Next day is Monday today, we got up early morning as it was too cold & after wearing the Tshirt & Sweater with Blanket I was feeling cold. I saw that till 1.30 PM the FOG was there & was looking very very beautiful & could not be forgotten in this life. I was unlucky that I took 2 rolls with me but used till last night. I felt very bad I tried to purchase but can not get new. I had forgotten to check the nos of the rools while taking these.
Anyway it is really a must to see & experience the view & lake. If GOD permits u will see in near future.
A Mountain Gorilla park is 70 KM away from this place & having 250 $ tickets per person, I will see it if possible next year. The Queen Elizabeth National Park , where Lions , Tigers, Elephants, Zebras, Chittas etc are kept in nature way & u have to go with closed Vehicles provided by the authorities , is also in middle of this road but is away from main road hence it will aslo be seen next time.
